With Blackpool close-by, you won't be short of things to do with Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the SEA LIFE centre and its 32-acre Zoo.

Town: Cleveleys is a bustling town on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire, about 4 miles north of Blackpool. There are a few interesting buildings and landmarks dotted about the town such as the Marsh Mill Windmill, an attractive part of Thornton Cleveleys heritage, and a Grade II* Listed building, which is opened as much as possible by The Friends of Marsh Mill. This is a local group foreseeing its upkeep and allowing visitors to see inside, and marvel at its fabulous and intricate workings. For car enthusiasts, the annual Cleveleys Car Show is on which hosts a wide range of vehicles including Classic Cars, Sports Cars, Modern Classics, American Cars, hot rod, kit cars and Specialist vehicles. Cleveleys seafront is just over a mile long, stretching from the boundary with Blackpool in the south at Kingsway, not far from Anchorsholme Park. Here you see the design of the sea defences, built carefully to keep the water out and prevent flooding. The promenade, cafe, water play area, artworks and easy access are very popular with visitors and local people. Jubilee Leisure Park adds fun-filled facilities with a children’s activity centre, cinema, pub and restaurant. The Affinity Shopping outlet is located next to the small and quaint, Wyre dock and marina for further opportunities to enjoy. Nearby at Blackpool, the seven-mile sandy beach and promenade offer donkey rides, fish-and-chip shops and theatres. Other landmarks include the Blackpool Tower, Blackpool illuminations, the Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Water Park, the Winter Gardens, and Blackpool Zoo. The seaside towns of Lytham and St Annes-on-Sea nestle further along the spectacular stretch of coastline, a photographer's haven, lined with pretty parks, rolling sandy dunes and the Ribble Estuary Nature Reserve. With so much to entertain its guests and splendid coastal views to admire at every angle, consider your next trip in the UK, to Cleveleys.

Disliked: Check-in, communication

Could do better

Started with zero communication from the host at check in. We received no message with a code for the key box. Had to call Sykes cottages & they had to call us back with the code. Towels & bedding smelt very musty as did some of the rooms. Very dated & could do with some attention. There was a garden table & chairs but unusable & clearly not been cleaned in a long time. Kitchen items lacking & if you like wine, make sure you've got a corkscrew. Lovely neighbour opened ours for us. Sofas were the most uncomfortable ones I think I've had in a rental. Had a 2 week stay & was glad to leave. Property could be really nice with some attention.
