Welcome to Dolphins Reach, a lovely spacious four-bedroom property sleeping six adults and two children in the small fishing village of St. Mawes, at the end of the Roseland Peninsula. The property is set over three floors so not suitable for people with mobility issues. Downstairs is all open plan, ideal for socialising. Folding doors lead from the living area to a large sun terrace with spectacular sea views. The bedrooms are split over the first and second level, with a second upper deck where you can watch the ferries coming and going.
It benefits from having its own parking (a premium in this hustling bustling village) so you can leave the car and walk as you are within a few minutes’ walk of the beach and village. St Mawes has a selection of boutique shops, cafés, restaurants, and pubs with a wide menu choice to suit everyone. St Mawes Castle is just over ½ mile away, and a gentle stroll takes you to the remains of an old artillery fort built by Henry VIII where you can wander around the gardens soaking up the atmosphere. There is a local bus which takes you to Tregony and Portscatho, and, if you want to explore further, catch one of the ferries to Falmouth. This pretty town is situated on the harbour and there is lots to do here, including shopping, visiting the National Maritime Museum, walking around Pendennis Castle (another fortress built by Henry VIII) or walking along the coast path.
This area of the Roseland is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by small villages like Veryan with its unique round houses; Portscatho with is own beach; and plenty of rolling countryside and small beaches to explore. The mild climate allows sub-tropical plants to survive, visit the gardens at Lamorran and Caerhays Estate or walk around the 13th-century church at St Just. You can catch one of the river ferries and get off at Trelissick, the walks along the Fal are relaxing, you can walk around the house and gardens, stopping at the shop to bring some plants back.
