Considered to be Dublin’s cultural heart and one of the best districts to do a daytime and then a nighttime visit, when the bars and taverns are full of life. Bound by Dame Street and Liffey River, its narrow and cobblestone streets and charming architecture preserve the city’s pure essence.
Temple Bar is one of the capital’s most appealing neighborhoods. It combines various cultural venues with dozens of bars, restaurants and typical Irish pubs.
The area is famous for its lively nightlife, where both locals and visitors come together to enjoy a pint of stout and other classic Irish drinks.
During the day, Temple Bar houses various open-air markets like the Food Market and the Book Market. The streets are also packed with art galleries and alternative clothing boutiques.
Getting Around:
Given it’s central location, the majority of your travel will most likely be by foot! However, many buses pass along the adjoining Camden Street, and will take you right into the city centre (Dame Street/Trinity College). The Aircoach and Airlink 747 buses run to and from Dame Street direct to the airport. Alternatively, there are many taxis which can be hailed on the street or ordered via your Uber or MyTaxi app. A taxi to or from the Airport can cost between €30-35, depending on traffic. For the brave, there is also the public bicycle scheme, Dublin Bikes! A 3-day pass can be purchased at machines for €5. There is a Dublin Bike stop within a short walk away from the property. Also within a 10 minute walk of the property is Dublin’s tram line, the Green Luas line, which is useful for visiting the leafy suburbs. A Leap card allows you to get on and off public transport with ease, and can be purchased at most local shops.
There is no parking available outside the home.
