About this property
Shepherd Hut in Private Meadow with Outdoor Bath
Book a rural escape, and kick back from the chaos in style! Welcome to Marsh Farm Glamping. Park your car, and your troubles, and stroll across our meadow to your very own secluded off-grid hideaway. Fully equipped with everything you could need, once you arrive you may never want to leave!
Fire up the BBQ, or grab a glass of bubbles and lie back and relax under the stars in our beautiful roll-top bath - once you arrive how much, or how little, you choose to do is entirely up to you.
Get ready to unpack, unplug and unwind in our beautiful shepherd hut.
The space:
Inside, the hut has a king sized bed with Egyptian cotton linen, and super snuggly duvet, a walk-in rainfall shower, flushing loo and sink in the en suite bathroom, and a two ring gas hob in the kitchenette. It also has a retro Montpellier fridge/freezer for keeping those essentials cold.
For those chillier nights there's our Hobbit log burner to keep you toasty warm.
As we like to take care of you as much as possible, you'll find fresh milk in the fridge, as well as tea, coffee, salt and pepper. And not forgetting hot chocolate and marshmallows for toasting under the stars.
We also offer breakfast hampers or BBQ Boxes on arrival or the opportunity to hire a trio of hens or Feed the Sheep.
The kitchenette is fully equipped with all pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Outside our roll-top bath is on mains hot and cold water, and we have a BBQ/Fire-Pit as well as Adirondack chairs for relaxing in. There's also a bistro set for al fresco dining. We have logs and coal available to purchase on site, as well as firelighters, BBQ tools and a chimney/accelerator for complimentary use.
The hut is situated in its own meadow and is totally private and secluded with no neighbours overlooking it. In fact our nearest neighbours are 450 metres down the lane!
Our flock of native Wiltshire Horn sheep do graze the field through the year so you may wake up to them just outside the picket fence. In the spring their lambs will be bouncing past the windows too.
The hut is off-grid but on mains water. This means there are no 3 pin sockets but there are 2 USB ports. Smoking, candles/lanterns and any naked flames are strictly forbidden.

About the host
Hosted by Camilla Ainsworth

Hi, we are Camilla & Leon and we live on a serene and secluded smallholding slap bang in the middle of the beautiful Somerset Levels.
Having taken a blind leap of faith and given up life as we knew it, we moved here in 2016.
We discovered Marsh Farm and moved in with absolutely no smallholding experience whatsoever - we hadn’t even kept a chicken between us. Within nine months we had somehow accumulated hens, duck, sheep, pigs and two of our neighbour's cattle. After a fun few years we decided to get rid of our small herd of Devon Ruby cows and free up the land for our next adventure - luxury Somerset glamping!
Last year we were delighted to see our dream realised with the opening of our first shepherd hut offering a sustainable and eco-friendly glamping experience in Somerset, and the perfect romantic escape.
We still feel incredibly lucky to have found the Farm - it truly is a secluded, peaceful oasis in an often overly hectic, busy world, and we feel even luckier to be able to share a slice of it with our guests. Our shepherd hut is set in our furthest field, offering solitude and privacy, but within walking distance of the local pub, farm shop and cafe. It offers everything you could want from an off-grid luxury experience from an en suite flushing loo to king size bed.
We produce our own native breed lamb, hogget, mutton and pork, our own eggs, jams, pickles, preserves and orchard apple juice, some of which goes into our hampers or may be available as extras on site.
So if you’re looking to explore the South West or simply kick back and unwind with nature, then our shepherd hut holiday could be the perfect rural escape you’ve been looking for!
We look forward to welcoming you to Marsh Farm.

Why they chose this property
Somerset truly is a quirky, colourful, laid back county! Full of amazing local producers and makers, we are surrounded by local produce, from award winning organic meat and veg, to artisan ciders and cheeses. We even have a vineyard just down the road.
Glastonbury and Wells are both a short drive away and well worth a visit, and the nearby market towns of Langport and Somerton are both full of independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
Our award winning pub, organic farm shop and cafe are all within walking distance of the hut.
There are plenty of beautiful walks, especially alongside the river Parrett, and the area is also full of cycle and walking trails.
Explore nearby Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole or the many National Trust houses and gardens. Visit the Haynes Motor Museum or Fleet Air Arm Museum.
With a laid back vibe but plenty to see, do and explore, Somerset really is where it's at.

What makes this property unique
Our beautiful, fully equipped hut really is set in its own private meadow. We have no neighbours, and there are no other glampers, meaning it's just you, the sheep and the wildlife. With an outdoor bath for stargazing, and a BBQ/firepit, it's the perfect place to getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
It also has an en suite bathroom with rainfall shower and flushing loo - so no need to step outside in the dark with torch in hand! The kitchenette allows for indoor cooking too, and the king sized bed is the perfect comfort to collapse into at the end of a busy day relaxing.
As it's on solar power, there are no 3 pin sockets, and no wifi (but very good 4G!) so it's also the perfect space for a digital detox.
Come and experience tranquillity at its finest, and escape to a touch of luxury in the heart of the Somerset Levels.
