The kitchen opens up into a cosy snug, complete with a leather Chesterfield and a high back wing chair, creating a perfect spot for relaxation and board games by the wood burner. For entertainment, a second living room awaits, equipped with a high-quality double sofa bed which can fold out on an evening to provide additional sleeping and a TV and Wii games console. On the ground floor, there is a twin bedroom, along with a convenient downstairs toilet and a utility/boot room, ideal for accommodating dogs and storing bicycles securely. Your furry friends are more than welcome to join in on the holiday fun!
Upstairs opens into a spacious lounge with far-reaching views across to Hamsterley Forest and the picturesque Durham Dales, offering a tranquil setting to unwind in and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. The first floor also features a comfortable double bedroom with its own en-suite, a spacious kingsize bedroom, and a well-appointed family bathroom for your convenience.
With an abundance of walks and cycle routes nearby, there is much to do for the outdoor enthusiast. Out and about the rolling countryside offers a wealth of bridleways, public footpaths and cycling routes. Just a short stroll from The Old Post Office is a dedicated dog-walking paddock and a new children’s play area. Take a picnic and enjoy a stroll across the fields down to the River Wear. Nearby, Hamsterley Forest has a wide range of activities with walking trails, cycle routes and horse-riding trails, all levels of fitness and ability are catered for. Conveniently, right on the main A68 route allowing visitors easy access to destinations both north and south, a mere one-hour drive to Hadrian’s Wall, and under three hours to Edinburgh.
