Unreliable

The host contacted 4 hours before check-in they were no longer on VRBO - oh, by the way, if you are interested in renting, all our properties are fully booked. I booked the property and paid in full months before. VRBO verified the host NEVER cancelled the property off their site I was stranded in Mexico during a festival where everything was booked. Very bad form. VRBO came to the rescue. They found a hotel and covered some of the cost. Unfortunately, I had to cover some too (over my original rent price). It busted my budget in a big way. Thank you VRBO for stepping in when the host threw me to the wolves.
