About this property
Charming cabin, in peaceful, woodland location by babbling burn.
Cruachan Cabin provides self-catering accommodation for up to four guests and up to 2 well behaved dogs. It is an authentic Forestry Commission cabin, situated in a ¼ acre garden, by a babbling burn. The cabin is approximately 200 meters from Loch Awe and a 2 minute walk from Dalavich Village.
The cabin provides privacy and is close to a large open meadow on which children can play safely.
The accommodation consists of a porch, open plan lounge, with dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and large shower room.
The lounge area has TV (with Sky, Freeview & Netflix), DVD player, radio, a three-seater sofa, two-seater sofa, fold away dining table and chairs plus a beautiful log burning stove.
● The well-equipped kitchen area has a cooker, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, toaster and kettle. A full range of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided.
● From the lounge area patio doors give access onto the raised veranda, which overlooks the garden and has picnic table / benches.
● The bathroom has an electric shower, wash basin, toilet, shaver point, large storage cupboards and wardrobe.
● Bedroom 1 contains a double bed, storage space and bedside cabinet. With reading lamps and easily accessible sockets for phone charging.
● Bedroom 2, although small contains two bunks, suitable for adults or children with storage and separate lights over each bed.
● The Hall contains storage and hanging hooks for wet clothes plus hooks to hold fishing rods plus a small stand-alone freezer.
A multitude of birds can be seen around the cabin, especially if fed, as well as Red Squirrels, Roe Deer and Pine Marten. The Pine Marten may visit in the evenings and feast on any peanuts left out. The roe deer will often wander through the garden on a night feasting on our grass!
The cabin is double glazed, well heated and is suitable for use all year round. It stands in extensive grounds, has a campfire / BBQ area and parking for two cars. All electricity, linen and towels are included within quoted prices.
Wi-fi is available at extra cost of £17 / short break or £30 per week. Please advise if this is required when booking.
This is a non-smoking cabin. We allow two dogs maximum in the cabin at extra £20 each per stay.
The area is a dark skies area and a multitude of stars can be viewed including the Milky way.
