About this property
Horseshoe Cottage Farm with Hot Tub
Summary:
Horseshoe Cottage Farm is an award-winning self-contained retreat. Located amidst the stunning rolling hills of the Leicestershire countryside, within the Charnwood Geo Park and the National Forest, it provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
We are able to offer an optional private dining package at this property. Please get in touch with our team to receive your bespoke quote.
The Space:
The cottage offers three stunning ensuite bedrooms, two king and one twin/super-king. One of the king bedrooms is conveniently located on the ground floor with a walk-in shower, making it easily accessible for guests with mobility considerations. The rooms are well- appointed with down duvets, pillows, large fluffy towels, and The White Company linen to ensure a comfortable stay. Allergy free bedding is available with prior notice.
The heart of the cottage is its country style kitchen/dining room. The space is adorned with designer DeVol wooden cabinets, open shelving and a copper farmhouse sink and a view of the front garden. A large oak table sits in the centre, offering plenty of space for family and friends to gather. The sunlight streams in through the glazed entrance door, warming the room with a welcoming glow. This also provides the access to one of the terrace areas, which is perfect for al fresco dining, with a round patio set and charcoal kettle grill BBQ. The quaint back garden features the woodfired hot tub as well as a bistro set and wooden bench seat.
The living area boasts a vaulted ceiling, creating a sense of spaciousness and grandeur. The ceilings oak beams and exposed brickwork add character and a touch of rustic charm to the space. The centrepiece of the living area is undoubtedly the large inglenook fireplace. There is a solid oak dining table for formal dining, as well as sofa seating for at least six people. Overall, the area exudes a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The combination of rustic elements, luxury furnishings and soft textiles, creates a space that feels both charming and comfortable.
Whilst the cottage is luxurious and relaxing, it also emphasises its commitment to sustainability providing an electric vehicle charging point (charges apply), local organic toiletries, biomass heating and solar panels. This is an excellent option for environmentally conscious travellers.
The Neighborhood:
This beautiful stone barn conversion is conveniently located opposite the historic Bradgate Park, boasting over 850 acres of wild and unspoilt countryside, home to two herds of deer and the ruins of Lady Jane Grey’s childhood home, all of which you’ll be able to explore and enjoy.
Stepping out of the property grounds you are within the National Forest with all it has to offer, but only seven miles from Loughborough and Leicester. Bradgate Park and Swithland Woods are excellent for long or short walks, picnics and generally enjoying the natural beauty of the area. There are many great places to eat locally or just to enjoy a drink. There are several highly acclaimed restaurants nearby but booking is essential.
Horseshoe Cottage Farm is surrounded by a wealth of attractions for a diverse range of interests. These include, but not limited to, Richard III exhibition, Bosworth Battlefield, Great Central Railway, National Trust Properties and the National Space Centre.
