Neuadd Deg, Yr Ysgubor is one of two semi-detached, traditional slate built Welsh barn conversions. Originally the farm stables it sits on the owner’s 4-acre small holding complete with alpacas, pigs, sheep and chickens.
Neuadd Deg, Yr Ysgubor is located 5 minutes’ drive north of the historic market town of Carmarthen where you will find a market, cinema, shops and a great choice of restaurants. You are a 30-minute drive from the beautiful seaside village of Llansteffan with the famous salmon river where The Towy joins into the Carmarthen Bay. You can also visit the ruined castle, dating back to the early 12th-century, along with the iron age earthworks still visible to this day and once controlled an important river crossing of the Towy. Why not enjoy a walk to discover this castle and its epic views overlooking the sand flats and the Towy river mouth?

The ground floor offers a perfect space to relax after a busy day sightseeing, with an open plan kitchen, dining and living room and focal wood burner to curl up in front of with a glass of wine. On the first floor you will find your bedroom, again full of character with a vaulted ceiling, beams and wooden floors. Each room has been decorated thoughtfully throughout to provide the perfect stay, whilst the garden offers a sun soaked spot to unwind with a decked seating area and pergola where you can relax and listen to the babbling brook nearby.
Nearby is the National Botanical Gardens of Wales which is home to the largest span glass house in Europe, and some truly wonderful displays of flowers and landscapes, along with Aberglasney a few minutes away which is said to be one of the finest gardens in Wales. It surrounds a restored Grade II listed mansion which is perfect for cream teas whilst enjoying the scenery. While travelling west not to be missed is the historic township of Laugharne with the home town of the famous poet, Dylan Thomas. You can view his writing shed, his former home and enjoy some fine locally brewed ales in his favourite pub.
Neuadd Deg, Yr Ysgubor (UK45300) can be booked together with Neuadd Deg, Y Stabl (UK35032) to sleep up to 5 guests.
