Happy Break
There were three generations of us at the house and we were all more than satisfied with the cottage. It was clean, comfortable with everything we needed on hand. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
I would also like to add a special thanks to the lady in the office who sorted out a problem for me. She couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. So rare nowadays.

Ideal for family gathering
We came long way to stay in this beautiful cottage as it had connections with our early family history and it was perfect to accommodate our three generations. The peaceful atmosphere, and the facilities provided made our time at Field House a holiday to remember.

Thank you
Thank you for another great stay at Field Head House. A huge thank you, too, to the Estate staff whose prompt action when we had problems with the boiler was much appreciated.
The House is very comfortable and well equipped and we had a lovely restful week. The dogs were also very happy and loved their runs in the extensive grounds.
We look forward to a return visit at some point in the future.

Thoroughly recommend. What a fantastic place and location! Definitely coming back
This was just what we needed. A staycation and a refresh away from city life. Field Head House is in an idyllic location - easy to find with great amenities. The views are nothing short of breathtaking - waking up to a field of pheasants and the mist lifting was dreamy. We had family visiting from Australia and they were thrilled with the whole experience. What a lovely corner of the country to show them. The Estate team were super helpful and speedy with any requests (missing mop and extra cleaning cloths) but really we had everything we needed. We had a baby with us - but everything was provided without even having to ask - excellent quality travel cot and decent high chair including baby friendly cutlery. Loved the decor. Bathroom was very comfortable. We got to use the heated swimming pool - great fun but does need booking in advance and when we come back we would book before we even arrive rather than waiting to get there. The only thing I'd suggest (and it's not a need but would just make things that little bit easier) is a couple of dog bowls being on site. We will definitely be returning hopefully in the not too distant future! Thanks to everyone involved in making our stay special.
(We desperately needed some down time but next time we'd love to try some of the other activities.)

Excellent stay at field head house
We returned this year for another week long stay at field head house on graythwaite estate and again had a fantastic experience. Great service communication and the property is a real home from home and is very spacious. Excellent for a family or friends stay together, great location and very well equipped . We will definitely return again soon!

Interesting house
Overall, an interesting property - and we loved the antique furniture, the wallpaper in the dining room and the wonderful old safe!
Two important concerns:
The doors to the upstairs bath/shower rooms and the smaller of the bedrooms jammed (I think the lock was misaligned). The shower would not lock at all, and our two grandchildren both got stuck in the bathroom at different times and had to be rescued.
It would be helpful to have floor plans for the house when making a choice of holiday let. The two ends of the house (one downstairs to the right and one upstairs and to the left) are a long way apart which caused some concern as Mum and Dad were a long way from our 10 year grand-daughter. It worked out OK as after initial anxiety she was happy to be looked after by her grandparents - but this might have been more difficult to manage if she were younger. We looked at several of your properties and would have chosen differently if we had understood the layout.
Other points: lighting was very dim in places (especially in the dining room and the large lounge) - we spent most of the time in the small lounge as it was well lit!
The fridge and freezer were both 'elderly' and we were not confident that they were actually keeping the correct temperature - the fridge dripped water and the freezer temperature was flashing -18.

Perfect cottage in Idyllic location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Field Hill House. The space and surroundings were just perfect for our first get away as a family. Waking up in the morning to look out over glorious countryside is exactly what we wanted from our holiday in the Lakes.
We particularly liked how close the single bedroom was to both the sitting room and the master suite for our 7month old to sleep. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockery aswell as cutlery. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already provided.
Ideal location for visiting the local area as well as some further afield places. Most conveniences were available locally, but if not bigger shops were only 30mins away.
We look forward to staying with the Graythwaite Estate in the future.

Beautiful house and location
We stayed at Field Head House some years ago and it hasn’t changed save for some minor cosmetic upgrades. It is a beautiful place with stunning views and is centrally located for walks across the estate. There is plenty of space for a family of 4 and the kitchen has everything you might need (although the tin opener has seen better days)! We had a small issue with the heating which was dealt with promptly and our stay was extremely comfortable. It is one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in and I look forward to a return in the near future. Thank you so much.
