Upper private deck with George Foreman grill, table and chairs, perfect for enjoying the view and lounging after a day of hiking, cross country skiing, or sightseeing.
Surrounded by trees and wildlife , yet only 15 minutes to downtown or 15 minutes to airport. Large flat screen smart TV. Just bring your log in info to access all premium channels including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and more. High speed internet WI-FI included. Completely private and quiet - no traffic noise. Just the sound of wind in the trees and local fauna to keep you company. The best of traditional Alaska and the amenities of contemporary Anchorage. Winter Stay at Prospect Heights VRBO

We travel a lot because we do volunteer work for government land management agencies. This past winter we have been in Anchorage and were fortunate enough to find long-term lodging at this delightful VRBO. It was also a new experience for the hosts as they had not rented long-term before. This location is in the foothills of the Chugach mountains adjacent to the Chugach State Park. The park offers year-around opportunities for hiking, birding, and wildlife observation. We had moose in the yard on several occasions. Bear spray is available for guests and there are both grizzly and black bears in the neighborhood.The accommodation is spacious and very private. It overlooks the city of Anchorage with the Pacific Ocean and Coast Mountains in the background. Mount Spurr, an active volcano 80 miles from Anchorage, is expected to erupt soon and we would have had a front row seat for that event. Amenities are numerous and the congenial hosts were quick to provide any items that we needed.As mentioned previously, we travel a lot and make use of VRBO accommodations frequently, and this is the nicest VRBO we have stayed in. We highly recommend staying here.

Texas to Alaska Roadtrip Rest Stop

Clean, quiet, quaint come to mind… Donna and Ed are awesome. The location is in a quiet residential area, which is cozy but super convenient to everything you need. Enjoyed the view from the deck. Perfect stop to relax after a 5,000 mile bucket list road trip. Thx!!

Perfect Place

This place was a perfect fit for our family. Great area to be. Quiet yet close to amenities. Our Host, Donna was amazing! The space had everything you could think of and was very cozy and inviting. Close to hiking trails, skiing and the mountains. We saw Moose every day. Thank you for a wonderful time.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in May 2019. Lovely space, super clean, well-equipped, and just far enough from the downtown Anchorage to get the "we are in Alaska" fee without a hassle of long commutes. Highly recommended.

Snowy paradise

Homely, warm and cosy. A great place to return to after a day exploring Alaska. The accommodation had everything we could need, we cooked great meals, enjoyed with a nice glass of wine with snowy views and beautiful sunsets

Beautiful place and so peaceful!

I was on my 3rd trip to Anchorage within the last 2 years and I wish I had found out about this property on the first trip. (I had stayed at a hotel and another property from a different site, which were okay but that was about it.) It is situated on the hillside within a short drive of Anchorage and not too far from the Glen Alps parking area. It is in a nice, quiet area, with beautiful views and is a very comfortable to stay at. I can fully understand why this place has a perfect rating. Donna was very good at communicating as our trip approached. Her place is well decorated, has so many essentials to help you relax and enjoy the reason you choose to stay at a place such as this. That resulted in some of the best night's sleep I've had this year. I would gladly choose her place on my next trip up to Anchorage and would encourage anyone looking for a nice place stay to consider this one!

This was the last stop on The instructions to get in were very easy to get in. It was a little confusing finding the rental because the address given was 10000 but the building was 9998. We were very happy with the house! Thank you for sharing your space with us.

A Great Place to stay.

The guest house was comfortable and located near our family. We enjoyed watching the chickadees feast out the window and had two lengthy visits of moose in the drive. Donna was helpful with answers for questions and additional supplies. An unexpected perk was the driveway. With the new snow it made the perfect sled run for our 2 year old granddaughter. We look forward to coming back next year.

A true gem!

This apartment, which feels more like a cabin, is absolutely wonderful. If it is available, stop looking and book it! Located just outside of Anchorage in the hills, it has everything you need. Clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped. There are even a few furry and feathered friends (outside) to provide entertainment if you grow weary of trying to spot a moose. A nature trail is just around the corner, but weather prevented us from exploring it. Loved our stay here!

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our stay at this VRBO. It was well appointed and comfortable, and it was very reasonably priced, especially considering how expensive hotels are in Anchorage in summer. We appreciated having additional fans in the bedroom for white noise at night, and the bed was comfortable. We also loved the gas fireplace and kitchen. We arrived late at night and were a bit confused about where the apartment was located because there are multiple buildings at the property and the listing said street number XXXXX, but the apartment is over the garage which is actually XXXX. We found it quickly enough though, and hopefully we didn't wake anyone up walking around the property!

Little “Peace” of Heaven

Wow! What a sweet little home away from home we found in Alaska … thank you Donna and Ed for sharing!! We absolutely wanted for nothing!! Everything was so well appointed!! From the super comfy bed to a kitchen that made it so hard for us to even want to go out to eat. Gorgeous view … especially at night looking over the twinkling lights of Anchorage. Loved the variety of birds that visited everyday and even the moose that visited at night. Extremely well located to grocery stores, etc. but far enough away to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet. Winter is a perfect time to experience Alaska … Fur Rhondy, Iditarod, Northern Lights, Denali, Turnagain Arms, Moose, Eagles, Otters ,Seals … just to name a few of what this beautiful state has to offer. Again Donna, thank you guys so much!!

This guesthouse is adorable! I loved it!! Better than the photos. The views from all the large windows were great too. I would get up early every morning, turn on the gas fireplace and enjoy the moon or sunrises. It was lovely. I was most impressed with how fully stocked the guesthouse is. Everything from the kitchen to the bathroom....you will have everything you need for sure. Quick, easy drive to town as well which made the location perfect. I'll be back in 2 more years for my son's graduation from the University of Alaska.

Donna is Great!

My family and I were very excited to be hosted by Donna, unfortunately plans were cancelled because of a severe storm. Our plans were not can celled until the Day of our check in with Donna-Donna was very courteous and kind in her communications and she went the extra mile and had the house stocked with food for my family, for our arrival! Although I did not get to experience her vrbo, I am sure it would have been amazing based off of the true compassion and care Donna gave through our communications! I rate Donna a 5 star and I am sure her place is just as Great! Thank you Donna!

OUTSTANDING

As frequent visitors to Alaska we were seeking a quiet and relaxing home. This property exceeded our expectations. The pictures of the guesthouse are accurate and timely. The guesthouse is convenient, clean and very comfortable: a want for nothing kitchen, the calming glow of the fireplace, and beds so comfortable that a restless night's sleep was impossible. Easy access to shopping, dining and the Seward Highway for venturing North or South from Anchorage. Donna and Ed are fantastic hosts, extremely easy to communicate with, and ever so helpful. We are looking forward to our return next year. Over the past many years we have made about 50 trips to Alaska. Our stay at the Prospect Heights guesthouse easily ranks as the very best we have ever experienced. Thank you Donna and Ed for such a relaxing and memorable stay at your guesthouse.

Great stay, great location and a great little place.

We had a short visit to Anchorage for a family obligation and needed a place that could comfortably host our family of five. We found Donna’s listing and I immediately contacted Donna to see if they were available as the website was a little vague. She responded immediately and preaccepted our request. I finished the booking in minutes and that took care of a major concern for our trip. I have had the booking process go badly and leave me in a bad position, I was thrilled to have it nailed down in minutes. When we arrived We were thrilled at the cleanliness, decoration and amenities that the guest house provides. It’s very nicely decorated and arranged, with five people living in a smaller space than we’re used to, furnishing and layout are really important. The kitchen had great appliances, we made breakfast every morning and greatly appreciated the fresh eggs and butter that were in the fridge. Hillside is a beautiful area and the views of Anchorage are awesome. We even had a day clear enough to see Denali on the horizon. The washer and dryer worked well and we were able to run a couple of loads through to keep down on work when we got home. The bathroom was clean and stocked with body wash and shampoo. Location is always a matter of person taste, but I really enjoyed the drive up the mountain. We we’re heading to Eagle River everyday and it only took 25 minutes. Long story short, this is the first place I check for my next visit to Anchorage and I really hope that it’s not already booked up.
