Reach down to retrieve a chilled bottle from the wine fridge and raise a glass to happy holidays in sublime surroundings; from the window, gaze out on stunning views straight down the valley.

A natural hub, chat around the island with a drink as dinner is prepared on the electric Aga, in stylish aubergine. Dekton and French oak worktops provide plentiful preparation space, with all the essential appliances you would anticipate alongside a Smeg coffee machine and instant boiling hot water tap for your morning cuppa. Supremely spacious, different zones offer a new outlook; hang out in front of the fire, snuggled up in the plush wingback chairs, or seek solitude with a favourite book in the interior designer commissioned chair nestled within a nook.

When slumber calls, soak up the splendour of luxury hotel living at The Wilfrid, where each of the four boutique bedrooms is served by its own spa-quality ensuite replete with underfloor heating and mood lighting.

Dressed in mellow woodland tones, Lewis & Wood wallpaper coats a feature wall, evocative of the rural surroundings of The Wilfrid. Pause on the window seat and soak up views down over the valley. A spacious bedroom, note the built-in wardrobe, bedside tables and dressing table with stylish stool.

Next door, Beatrix Potter-esque vibes see the feature wall embellished in soft grey hares, whilst zip-link beds provide the option of twin or super-king-sized sleeping accommodation. Views of the valley beckon once more from the deep window, dressed in plush designer fabric cushioning.

Panoramic views greet you in the entertainment room, a modern Skandi-style sitting room ideal for allowing grownups and youngsters to have their own separate spaces; essential for any happy holiday.

Striking a contemporary pose to one side, a bar area is showcased by mood lighting, replete with light oak and grey cabinetry within which are concealed a wine fridge and dishwasher, local Herdy mugs and a selection of wine glasses. Also hidden away within the sleek cabinetry is a Miele washing machine and separate tumble dryer; handy when returning from a walk in the mercurial Lake District weather. Snuggle up on the sumptuous L shaped sofa by the warmth from the stylishly cylindrical Dan Skan wood-burning stove in addition to the underfloor heating from beneath the Lakeland slate underfoot.

Play board games at the black round dining table in the corner, set before bifold doors overlooking the dramatic fells. In summertime, flow out to the garden through the bifolds and onto the dining patio and BBQ area. Light serenades this entertaining space through remote-controlled Velux windows above and through the bifolding doors to create a bright and inviting ambience.
