Fantastic base for lakeside adventures

Property was very well appointed, clean and beautifully decorated. Very good quality kitchen appliances and excellent kitchen equipment. Rooms all good size and comfortable mattresses and good quality linens. Walking distance to a pub and not far to drive to nearby shop. Altogether really excellent

Wonderful property in fantastic location

Our family really enjoyed this property, even though the photos are great they don’t fully convey how homely and nice this property is. The cottage has been redecorated in some areas (compared to the initial photos) and it’s a good improvement. Everything is of a really good quality with nice touches everywhere and all of the beds were really comfortable. The location was really good with amazing views and located literally on the Stickle Tarn trail. The National Trust pub was next door and is great for lunches and the New Dungeon Ghyll hotel a stones throw away for again great food. Overall we couldn’t fault any of it and would love to stay again.

Just Wonderful

I can’t think of a better vacation rental I’ve ever had. Four adults - one couple and 2 brothers. We all agreed the place was perfect for this - 3 showers!! Beautiful kitchen/ dining ( huge and well stocked with cooking/ eating utensils) with enough room to spread out of the weather is unpleasant. Large, comfortable bedrooms with great mattresses, thoughtfully decorated. Garden was great for relaxing, playing games after a long active day and had not one but two dining- sitting areas, as well as an outdoor shower wand for cleaning muddy dogs, etc. really thoughtful touches all around. Within walking distance to various trails as well as a stones throw from New Dungeon Gill hotel’s pub/restaurant which was quite good. The old Dungeon Gill an easy still down the road. While quite close to the hotel and a couple of other cottages, noise was never a problem - the walls of the cottage are very thick. All in all, The New Stickle Cottage enhanced our stay in the gorgeous Lake District. Highest recommendation. I can’t wait to go back.
