About this property

Stag's Hide

Stag’s Hide was formerly used by the gamekeeper of Kinrara Estate, and dates back to 1909. The tin roof is very much part of Scotland’s rural landscape which adds to the care of this humble abode. Standing on the front doorstep, absorb the views of the Cairngorm Mountain Range, natural woodland where deer graze & frolic and broods of pheasants nest and roam . It truly sets the mood for a back to nature experience. The cedar clad hot tub or perhaps the garden patio with BBQ are an ideal spot for soaking up the picturesque surroundings. Indoors, you can put your feet up and relax with the warm glow from the squirrel log burner. The interiors reflect a simple Scandi style which is both aesthetically pleasing and practical. Stag’s Hide has a calm feel through use of soft and natural textiles, in line with a slower pace of life. Although compact, the cosy cottage offers everything a family could need, including open-plan kitchen, dining/living area with Sonos speaker and Smart TV, luxury double bedrooms. You can reach the centre of Aviemore on foot (20 minutes) via road and track or by bike (10 minutes). Many paths and tracks can be accessed from the cottage doorstep.

The Cairngorms is a natural playground. The area offers watersports, snowsports some incredible walking, cycling routes and has 12 golf courses. It’s even home to the only sled dog centre, and the first permanent bridge-based bungee jump, in the UK. The National Park contains one quarter of Scotland’s native forest; one third of UK land above 600 metres; more breeding farmland Separated by the great bulk of the mountains, different areas of the Park have their own distinct identity and cultural traditions, but they share deep connections to the same environments. You can explore the past at our castles and other historical sites such as the open air Highland Folk Museum, but this culture of the area also lives on today in music, ceilidhs and the Gaelic place names of the Park. The Cairngorms National Park is home to one-quarter of Scotlands native forest; one-third of the UK land above 600 meters; more breeding waders than the whole of Wales and a quarter of the rare and endangered species in the UK!

We are two sisters from Stirling, Scotland who set up our business 'Let's do Scotland' in 2020. Having been brought up on a farm we appreciate and have developed a love of our nature and the countryside, understanding the positive health benefits from being immersed in nature, and therefore
we wanted to offer holidays where our customers could experience this. We have enjoyed holidaying in Scotland on a self catering basis over the years, giving us the opportunity to see what we felt could be done better and setting our high standard. We offer 3 properties, the first is Toms' Lodge which sleeps 10, in Boat of Garten, our 2nd property, Stag's Hide a 2 bedroom property in Aviemore sleeping 4, and our 3rd, The Roost, Aviemore sleeps 2.

We are very passionate about our business, taking pride in what we do. The greatest job satisfaction is meeting and exceeding our customers expectations which can be evidenced on our google reviews 'www.letsdoscotland.co.uk'

Why they chose this property

The Cairngorm National Park to base our business, an area that escapes the hustle and bustle of an urban environment and acts like a balm for mental health.
