This first floor apartment is perfectly located to enjoy the delights of this traditional seaside village on foot. It is perfect for couples, friends or a small family wanting to explore the Northumberland coastline and magnificent countryside. The bright and airy rooms offer comfort and the convenience of secure parking in the heart of the village. Only a few steps to the pretty working harbour, shops, cafés, fish and chips and golden sandy beach. The apartment has a detached garden to the front which overlooks the harbour, sea and stunning views to Bamburgh Castle. The stylish, open plan living area leads on to a sunny balcony and the en-suite master bedroom is decorated in relaxing colours, whilst the second bedroom is a twin.
Seahouses offers a wide array of facilities including tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops and, of course, fish and chip shops! Boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the working harbour; the islands are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies. Horse riding is available on the cusp of the village, and there is an impressive golf course on the links close by.
The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches, where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birthplace of Christianity, can be viewed.
A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Visit Budle Bay, a bird sanctuary, where at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to countless thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers.
The market town of Alnwick, with its own majestic castle, cobbled streets and friendly locals offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction, with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant (set within the largest tree house in Europe) and fabulous theme park, Lilidorei. On rainy days discover Barter Books one of the largest second hand stores in England with a gorgeous café and cosy quirky interior. Beach 300 yards.
