About this property
Virida - Two Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 4
All on one Level: Open plan living/dining room (A/C, TV, WiFi) with French doors to terrace. Kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine). Double bedroom (A/C) with en suite shower room and French doors to terrace. Twin bedroom (A/C) with en suite shower room. Outside: Covered entrance/dining terrace. Sun terrace. Shower. Sunken seating area. Barbecue. Private parking. Private swimming pool (5.5m x 3.5m) with infinity edge.
In the same local family for centuries, an ancient olive grove provides the attractive setting for Virida, one of only three thoughtfully designed (and rarely found) properties to enjoy this privileged position. Offering remarkable views from its windows, terraces and pool across to the tranquil horseshoe bay, Venetian hilltop fortress and picture-postcard village of Assos this is, without doubt, a wonderful location from which to fully admire one of the most scenic and photogenic spots in Kefalonia.
Entered directly from the shaded front terrace Virida’s cool, calm interior is all about elegant simplicity. A minimalist design aesthetic blends unobtrusively with the natural environment; fuss-free décor, plenty of space and a muted colour scheme of soothing natural tones and crisp white exude a fresh and modern appeal.
Laid out across one level, the open-plan sitting/dining room has a well-equipped kitchen to one side and there are two equally stylish bedrooms, each with an attractive en suite shower room. Appealing decorative touches include warm tones of wood, linen and natural stone, plush cushions and potted plants. French doors in the living area and double bedroom ensure those beautiful vistas of sea, castle and hillside remain an integral part of the holiday.
Flanked with comfortable sun loungers, the infinity-edged swimming pool appears to be spilling into the sea and there is also a sunken seating area, ideal for enjoying those magical sunsets and fantastic views - perhaps with a cooling drink and some local olives?
Less than 450m away downhill, the centre of Assos has good amenities that include a fresh bakery, two well-stocked minimarkets, several friendly tavernas and even a small beach for taking a cooling dip in the turquoise waters of the bay. Anyone ascending the steep footpath to Assos castle will be richly rewarded by breathtaking sea views of the Erissos Peninsula, north-west coastline and distant Greek mainland itself.
Edged by two majestic mountains the famous sandy beach of Myrtos is just 10.5km south or head northwards along the scenic coastal road to find sleepy villages such as Maganos (15km), further lovely beaches that include Alaties (17.5km) and Agia Jerusalem (18km) as well as the vibrant and famously picturesque harbour of Fiscardo (20km) which offers yachting, boat hire, inter-island ferries, sightseeing/scuba trips and an excellent choice of waterfront bars, cafes, shops and restaurants.
Property licence number: 1283765.
Please note: The Greek Government charge a Climate Tax which is payable by guests staying in hotels and other properties. For Virida the charge is a flat rate of €15 (£13.04) per night. For your convenience we will add this amount to your booking, rather than you having to pay it in resort.
