About this property

Beautifully restored Périgourdine stone cottage set in the Dordogne countryside

Palmier is one of three gites at Au Coin Des Arbres, set in the courtyard of restored farm with a large swimming pool and extensive grounds. Footpaths and cycle tracks criss-cross the surrounding meadows and woodland making the ideal escape for nature lovers or outdoor pursuits.

Outdoor games including disc golf, vollleyball and kubb will keep the family entertained. Wifi extends across the site and within the gite.

Palmier has its own outdoor dining terrace with barbecue accessed directly from the kitchen. A large sitting room with exposed oak beams and stone walls includes a flatscreen tv (French and English), comfy soft furnishings and a dining table. The separate toilet and shower room with double sinks completes the ground floor accommodation. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms with 4* hotel beds that can either be configured as super kingsize or twins as you prefer.

Guests can access a shared laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Palmier looks on to the lawned courtyard with an abundance of flowers and herbs in pots and includes a shared covered dining space. The pond is full of fish, frogs and other wildlife which the children love (under supervision).

Tony and Lisa live on-site and offer assistance as required to make your holiday extra special. We can help with restaurant recommendations and reservations and also give you suggestions of the many places to visits in the area.

The region is full of historic towns (Monpazier, Villereal, Monflanquin, Belvès and Sarlat), hundreds of medieval castles, markets and excellent places to eat. Outdoor lovers can canoe down the Dordogne, take to the trees at Parc en Ciel or walk, run and cycle along quiet paths and lanes. The summer season offers night markets, music festivals, torch-lit tours of the towns and antique fairs. People come back to stay time and again because two weeks is never enough to everything the region has to offer.

Just wow

There are so many positive things to say about our stay I don't know where to start! This time last week we were sat eating a meal under the abri- tonight I have secured our 2 week visit for 2025. If that doesn't assure anyone of how much we fell in love with the venue, the pool and of course the hosts I don't know what would. The place is a piece of heaven that I am so thankful we found. Tony and Lisa are the most amazing hosts - the surrounding villages are beautiful, hubby found some fab cycling routes. But if you are like me and just want to go away and relax, this is the most beautiful setting. I have never ended a holiday not ready for my home conforts - I was genuinely sad to end this holiday! Our best family holiday yet!!

Lisa and Tony moved to this beautiful part of the Dordogne in 2020. We love living here and sharing our restored farm with our guests. We live onsite and so we are ready to help you have the best holiday ever by making recommendations for things to see and do in the area. We can also help you with restaurant reservations.

Why they chose this property

This part of the Dordogne offers beautiful countryside with medieval towns, colourful markets, castles, vineyards, wonderful restaurants and so many outdoor activities. Guests who stay with us for a week wish they’d booked for two!

What makes this property unique

Our restored farm lies at the end of a no-through road serving only a handful of houses so you won’t be disturbed during your stay. We are surrounded by meadows and woods with tracks in all directions and Biron only a 2km walk away with its famous chateau, auberge, bar and épicerie
