There is 40 acres of mature woodland, perfect for walks without ever leaving the estate. The owners’ have a donkey sanctuary on the grounds, with no less than 20 donkeys in residence!
And if you would like to enjoy a ride-out on the land, you can bring your own horse on holiday, with livery available for an extra charge. For horse racing enthusiasts Gowran Park Race Course is just a 10 minute drive away.
Piltown is close to the five counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford, set in an evocative patchwork of fertile valleys and plains. There are countless castles, abbeys, fortresses and ancient settlements marking the Celtic, Norman and Anglo Saxon times. The five river systems – the Barrow, Blackwater, Nore, Slaney and Suir - criss-cross the South East meandering under old stone bridges, around magical mountains, through picturesque villages and past neatly thatched cottages before finally entering the sea at scenic, peaceful seaside towns. From your holiday property, you can visit historic monuments, colourful gardens; well-maintained and sign-posted walking and cycling paths; abundant fishing locations; numerous golf courses, equestrian centres and exciting festivals.
Historic cities of Waterford and Kilkenny are within easy driving distance as are the beautiful, pretty villages of the region.
