Fantastic Place To Stay

If you are a couple looking for a lovely place to stay, look no further. Dominique has created a wonderful space set in the quaint garden of her and her husbands listed home. The mini gite is welcoming and comfortable and you can either choose to have Dominque prepare your breakfast, with the jams & yogurt she makes served with fresh breads & croissants, cheese & freshly prepared fruit. We got on so well, the four of us ate together the last evening and had a good laugh listening to a local music group performing in the village square. Thank you For a wonderful stay. We were sad to leave and hope to return. Jax & Keith

Charming, historic apartment

We enjoyed our stay in this charming apartment. It was in a separate building from the main house - both historic buildings. There is private, off-the-street parking. The hostess was friendly and easy to communicate with and even offered to make a dinner reservation for us. The location was close to the Amboise and the chateaus we wished to visit.

Beautiful and historic accommodations in a charming small town

We enjoyed our recent stay at La Belvedere. A short walk from town and a close drive to the chateau in Chenonceau and Amboise. Our room was perfectly appointed with a comfortable bed and comfortable living space. We traveled with another couple who expressed the same. Our room had a private bathroom attached. Our host Dominique was very accommodating! Upon our arrival, she walked me into town to show me where we could find a glass of wine and charcuterie, as well as a shop for bike rental. We really appreciated the time she took to do that and the time to help us return a car rental and book a train that would work with our schedule. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning with coffee and homemade yogurt. Such a special stay! Pack lightly. The curved stair case could be challenging to those (like us) with heavy luggage. Dominique’s recommendations for dinner at Au tableau in Blere and Chez Bruno in Amboise was spot on!

Beautiful, authentic, historic property! Perfect for those who appreciate the historic setting!

This is a charming property with amazing outdoor space, comfortable rooms, private bathrooms, and an amazing historic authenticity. Breakfast is terrific, and the proprietor is quite knowledgeable about the region. If you prefer modern conveniences like air conditioning and TV, this is maybe not for you, but if you want to really connect with the old world charms of the Loire, this property is outstanding.

Superb B&B, superb hostess, superb location for exploring the beautiful Loire.

The B&B is situated in a quaint town just a few minutes drive from Amboise, an ideal location for exploring the awesome chateaus and landscape of the Loire Valley. The B&B is a beautiful historic manor and the gardens and courtyard are wonderful. Dominique and Jean-Richard are teriffic hosts and offered great suggestions, brocheurs, etc. on attractions, restaurants and travel tips. Our suite was spacious and very clean, and the breakfasts were delicious. We would highly recommend B&B Belvedere as a base retreat for enjoying the Loire.

Relaxed French Elegance

We wanted to stay in the heart of chateau country, and were happy to discover Blere, a charming village near enough to touristy Amboise, but nicely away from the crowds. Le Belvedere is an elegant Belle Époque-style home and garden hidden behind high stone walls and could well be the setting for a romantic movie. But while the home is country-formal, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Dominique, our hostess, speaks perfect English and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the area, which she earnestly wants you to enjoy. Plus, she serves a marvelous continental breakfast with her own homemade yogurt and jams. I would recommend it to friends and would gladly stay again.

A Country Chateau in the Middle of Town

This delightful house will surprise you. You find it in the middle of a developed town. When you enter the front gate, however, you enter a large garden, both in front and in back of a beautifully-restored chateau. Our room was spacious and the breakfast was more than we could eat. The hosts take a real interest in their guests and are eager to provide guidance to travelers. I would definitely recommend this bread and breakfast home to others.

France as you imagined it!

This is an absolutely beautiful 19th century house with beautiful gardens. We stayed in the family suite. Our bedroom window overlooked a rose arbor that was in bloom. The town is exactly what we imagined a small French town to be. We truly enjoyed walking around in the evenings. It is convenient to the sights of the Loire Valley. Dominique was very personable and full of good advice about what to see and restaurants etc. The breakfast was excellent with homemade yogurt. As a bonus it has parking, rare in France.

Serene setting with an abundance of charm!

What a fantastic time at Lebelvedere. Lovely historic home filled with beautiful antiques and works of art. My husband and I stayed three nights and wished we could have extended the visit. The cottage we stayed in was very spacious. Enjoyed late afternoons just sitting in the garden reading and drinking excellent wine from the region. Lebelvedere is in a village we found to be very welcoming. Great places to walk along the river through parks and to a winery. Located just a short block to the town square with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Enjoyed eating at the square and walking back to the home, without having to drive. Dominque and Jean are wonderful hosts recommending chateaus, museums, and restaurants. Two of our favorite memories are the aerial tour of the chateaus by Jean and the Leonardo di Vinci museum. My husband was in the Air Force and he and Jean, a former pilot, could have talked for hours about planes. Dominque is very gracious and prepared a wonderful selection of croissants, breads, cheese, beverages and homemade yogurt for breakfast. Delightful way to start each day. Would recommend it to anyone interested in a special treat!

Old World Charm

My partner and I just returned from our fabulous stay with Dominique and Jean at their charming B and B in the Loire Valley. Dominique was a wonderful hostess, serving a wonderful breakfast every morning, and supplying us with tips on chateaus, restaurants, and even an exhibition in Paris for our next stop. Our room was very private, quiet, and clean with windows on the garden. The bath was quite large, with 2 sinks, a frig, and microwave. I would highly recommend this B and B for your stay in the Loire Valley.

Girls' trip

What an extraordinary experience! Lebelvedere is such a beautiful and serene estate and so conveniently located to the great sites in Loire Valley. Our Owners made us feel like VIP guests. The rooms were immaculate and nicely furnished. Our breakfast equalled what one would expect in the finest European hotels. We were made to feel welcome to enjoy the gardens and the library. Our owners went above and beyond to help us select the best tourist attractions and restaurants and to assist with all arrangements such as maps, directions, and reservations. My favorites included Chenenceau, Amboise castle, the Leonardo Da Vinci museum, Villandry, and the mushroom caves. I would not hesitate to recommend Lebelvedere to anyone. Many thanks to Dominique and Jeaneau for making our vacation so special and memorable.

Le Belvedere

I stayed at Le Belvedere for just under a week with 2 friends. We had a marvelous time in this lovely old listed home. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. Dominique and Jean Renaud were perfect hosts and Jean Renaud even took us for a fabulous flight over the chateaux. ( not to be missed) Dominique's breakfasts were delicious and she was always there with very helpful tips on where to go, what to see and where to eat. All very good. Blere is a very quaint village and very centrally located for visiting the many historical sites in the area.

Relax in a charming historical house in the Chateaux de la Loire

We had a very nice stay in this beautiful historical house in the centre of the small village of Bléré, just a few minutes from Amboise and Chenonceau. The house is very quiet, with a very nice old garden, the owners are very polite. Very good breakfasts, for the Italian standard, are served in the morning, although for a relatively short time (8:30-9:30). A perfect place to travel around the Loire region.

Elegant Loire Valley Home

We stayed in the very comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean and private detached cottage with off street parking. The photo presentation of the property is very accurate but you need to see it to really appreciate it. Upon arrival, Dominique and Jean Renaud invited us into their house for wine and a snack and we immediately felt that we were part of the family. We accompanied them to a local restaurant where they knew the owner and Chef and we had a special meal. We were invited into the kitchen to meet the Chef and this was an exceptional treat. Le Belvedere was built in 1830 and is a smaller version of some of the local Chateaus. The furnishings, marble trim and inlaid hardwood floors are a real tribute to the craftsmanship of that era and the restoration and upkeep reflect the pride that Dominique and Jean Renaud take in their residence. The gardens are spectacular and we enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine in a peaceful quiet courtyard that took us back in time. I am a military historian and Jean Renaud graciously invited me to view his private collection of photos, books and other aviation memorabilia. I could have spent a couple of days trying to take it all in. We went on the Loire Valley flight with Jean Renaud at the controls and the scenery and views of the Chateau from the air were breathtaking. The plane is comfortable and the large clear windows make for good photos. Dominique recommended restaurants, Chateau visits and what towns had market days. Visiting these markets was one of the most interesting things that we did in France. Her recommendation of La Sarrazaine, around the corner from Le Belvedere, provided us with some of the best meals that we had during our trip. Dominique's breakfasts featured homemade fruit jams and yogurt as well as fresh pastry, cheese and excellent coffee as well as friendly conversation, all of which made us feel at home. We strongly recommend Le Belvedere for anyone who wants to experience the real French countryside with a comfortable, friendly home base.

Two Travelers

Not enough can be said about Le Belvedere and its attentive owners, Dominique and Jean-Reneau. After a full day of travel, it was so wonderful to land in their caring ways with dinner reservations included! This was a welcome moment of no decision making in the midst of four weeks of travel. The location in Bléré is perfect for connecting to major sights in the area while at the same time it is perfect for feeling the peace and serenity of a small village in France. Our room and its bath were exquisitely detailed for a comfortable stay, breakfast was filling and presented gracefully in a beautiful setting. Dominique was generous with her time and information as was Jean-Reneau. Parking was available on the street or if needed in the courtyard. The actual physical structure of Le Belvedere is gracefully beautiful and the loving care provided by the owners is evident in all parts of the home. Beauty, sophistication, welcome, warmth and graciousness all describe the experience of staying at Le Belvedere. You will be happy that you said yes to Bléré!

A lovely stay at Le Belvedere

This is a gem of a bed-and-breakfast located in the small but charming town of Blere in the Loire Valley. The ample continental breakfast (fresh baguettes and croissants, homemade jellies, cheese, fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt, coffee and tea) was served in a beautifully decorated dining room. Our bedroom, the Chambres de Dames, was spacious and airy; the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was enormous with room for coatracks to hang our things, twin sinks and a shower that was hot and strong. Blere is situated but a short hop away from such chateaus as Chenonceau, Amboise and Chambord, and the real hidden treasure of Le Belvedere was the local knowlege of our hosts, Dominique and Jean-Renaud. With them, you can leave your guidebooks and your GPS in your room - they can tell you the best places to see and eat (and are eager to assist you with reservations), and the best ways to get there and back. (We did not have a chance to fly over the area with Jean-Renaud in his private plane, but were told by a fellow guest that the experience was "briliant.") When the day comes that we return to the Loire, we certainly hope to be able to stay at Le Belvedere again.

Highlight of our vacation

Our family of five stayed at Le Belvedere for 7 days this past June. I do not think we could have made a better choice. Dominique and Jean-Renaud made us feel at home and proved themselves to be charming and gracious hosts. Bléré turned out to be a great central location for our daily explorations of the Loire Valley, and is an easy town to navigate. The house itself is a beautifully restored mansion filled with antiques and interesting art and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Even though it is close to the town center, it feels very secluded and private. Our rooms were large, comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully furnished with robes, and a coffee maker. Every morning we were treated to a breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, homemade yogurt and jams, bread, cheese, coffee and croissants. One morning Dominique surprised our youngest daughter on her birthday with a special breakfast pastry and a birthday present! Really made her day! Jean-Renaud (JR) and Dominique really made a tremendous effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They both speak perfect English, a big relief because my limited French is pretty bad. Dominique always had helpful suggestions about things to see and do in the area, and her restaurant recommendations were perfect. JR would draw maps for us, which were a big help. They would even make dinner reservations for us, which is a good idea, as the restaurants are busy even during the week. A special treat for us was being able to go flying with JR while we were there. The flight and the aerial views of the chateaus are something we will never forget. I hope we get an opportunity to return someday; it is really a special place and great hosts!

Had a wonderful stay at the chateau

Our family of two adults and two chlldren stayed with Dominique and Jean for 4 nights during the end of May, beginning of June 2010. We had a wonderful time and our children specifically mentioned they would like to return. The breakfast was delicious, the family suite was spacious and charming, and our hosts were delightful and very welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. Blere is an excellent central base for exploring the various chateaux of the Loire Valley and it was easy to drive to Amboise, Chenonceau, Angers, Chambord, etc. Dominique and Jean were very helpful with driving directions and restaurant suggestions. The chateau has a lovely yard and is very quiet. The property was quite clean and well-maintained. We would definitely recommend staying here while visiting the Loire Valley.

We stayed in the "Chambre...

We stayed in the "Chambre de Dames" at Le Belvedere B & B for three nights. The room had a street entrance which provided privacy and we did not have to disturb the owners when coming and going. Dominique and Jean Renaud were very gracious hosts and had everything ready for us. The B & B is called a "Chambre D'Hotes." There are many in the Loire Valley, but we chose this one for the location and booked it through VRBO for 90 euros per night including breakfast. We communicated via e-mail with the owner and she was extremely helpful in making our plans. She recommended we take a train from Paris into St. Pierre Du Corps train station and then rent a car. We reserved the car ahead of time - "A MUST" in the summer. Blere is a charming little town with great food and great wine. Dominique had breakfast ready for us every morning. The B & B is an old restored historic monument with a lovely garden. Our room was spacious and we were suprised that it had a microwave and a small refrigerator which came in handy. We sat out one evening and Dominique brought us some Vouvray demi-sec with a delicious homemade salmon spread. She was also helpful in planning our castle stops and gave us detailed directions, maps, pamphlets and input as to how to make the most of our time in the Loire Valley.
