The fitted kitchen is extremely well equipped, it has a fitted single oven and hob with an extractor fan and light, a large freestanding fridge freezer, integrated dishwasher and automatic washing machine, microwave oven, krupps coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The kitchen also has a central island which acts as a breakfast bar for two, this features French and English electric sockets and a USB charger. The dining area has a large table and chairs with a large french ‘buffet’ for china, glasses, cutlery etc., The lounge area with its beautiful french style fireplace and log burner has two comfortable sofas, chair and occasional tables, for those who like to watch tv there is a large television screen. There is also a reading corner with a selection of books and a comfortable armchair and footstool. There are french windows in the lounge which lead out onto the private terrace and exterior dining area.
The twin bedded room is on the ground floor, this has two full sized single beds, a wardrobe and drawers, chair and long mirror across the hall is a shower room, with built in shower with glass doors, hand basin and toilet.
Upstairs:
The is a small landing area leading to the bedroom with its beautiful four poster double bed. There is built in hanging space with shelves, chest of drawers, dressing table with stool and a french style chair. The ensuite bathroom has a large free standing bath, separate shower with glass doors, french antique wash stand with basin and wall hanging toilet. The bedroom also has both French and English electric sockets and USB charger.
We supply all bed linen, indoor towels and tea towels for our guests. ( If you prefer to bring your own that is fine but please note that there will not be a reduction to the price, We also ask that you let us know in advance of your stay)
The house has underfloor heating in the cooler months (October - March) and separate heating upstairs. There is a log burner which guests can use October to March , we give one free basket of logs and then charge 10 euros a basket to help cover costs.
Outside:
The private terrace leading from the lounge area, has an outside dining table, chairs and parasol, BBQ and a small herb garden. There is a private parking area with easy access to the front doors when unloading the car etc., The small private garden is entered by an archway at the other side of the parking area. The garden has a gravelled sunbathing area with sunbeds and parasols, this has been planted with white flowering plants many of which are scented, the path then takes you into an area shaded by a beautiful lime tree under which sits a small bistro table and chairs. All outside areas are for the private use of the guests only and have lovely views over the local countryside.
Other things to note
We are delighted to welcome children to Petit Hibou. Parents do need to be aware that there are quite steep stairs to the first floor and outside on the terrace the wall has a drop onto a terrace below, which a child may try to climb. Parents must take full responsibility for their children’s safety and stays are at the guests own risk. The hosts cannot not take responsibility should an accident occur.
Although we love animals, we sadly cannot have your pets at Petit Hibou. We live in the barn at the back of the property and have a beautiful flat coat retriever called Meisie, who is very friendly , two cats and a chicken called Mavis. None are allowed in Petit Hibou and we try to discourage them from that side of the property. We do ask that if any of the cats or chicken come to visit, do not allow them in the house, shoo them away and do not give them any food. Normally they don’t like strangers and will hopefully keep well away.
We welcome smokers providing that they agree not to smoke in or near to the house, we provide sand pots on the terrace and in the garden and we ask guests to make use of these. We will ask for 300 euros from the deposit should we feel that someone has been smoking in the house.
In order to keep our price low we do not charge an obligatory cleaning fee. Guests can chose to clean and leave the property as they find it or we offer a cleaning service for an extra 60 euros to be paid locally. If you wish to use this service please can you tell us at least 3 days in advance.
It is important to us that you have a wonderful stay at Petit Hibou, if there is anything you need or have a problem with, please tell us and we will do our best to sort it out for you. We want everything to be perfect for your stay but occasionally there can be a problem that is out of our control, we ask for your understanding should a situation like this occur and assure assure you that we will do everything possible to rectify the problem as quickly as we can. Please note that we will not accept any complaints made after your departure.
