A cozy lounge with a rustic wood burner and a Smart TV invites you to unwind after a day of exploring the Northumberland countryside. French doors open out to a decked area with pergola and comfortable seating, perfect for a glass of wine or your morning coffee. Access via a flight of steps into a light filled conservatory, where you can sit and relax enjoy brunch or supper with friends at the dining table. Leading off the conservatory is the country kitchen fully equipped with all you need for your stay.
The ground floor hosts two beautifully appointed bedrooms and a family bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. On the first floor is a king-size bedroom with vaulted ceilings and an en-suite bathroom featuring an inviting bath, allowing you to soak away the day’s adventures. Outside, a decked terrace invites al fresco dining, extending down to a lawned area with fruit trees and a peaceful seating area, offering the perfect setting for relaxation and play.
When you’re ready to explore, take a stroll across the river to the High Street, where you will find an assortment of independent shops, pubs and cafés, there is something here for all tastes and age groups. Nearby you can visit Cragside House, the home of Lord Armstrong on the outskirts of the town, a beautiful National Trust visitors’ site and walkers can visit the Simonside Hills for exhilarating rambles. Cyclists will appreciate the proximity of the Sandstone trail stretching from the Scottish borders to the Peak District, with convenient bike storage available back at Highbury. Rothbury is ideally located for exploring the nearby villages, set on the edge of the National Park with easy access over to the Northumberland Heritage Coast (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The National Park can be easily reached, and Kielder has a host of water sports. Alnwick Castle and gardens is only 14 miles a must for any ‘Hogwarts’ fans, where you can meander through the cobbled streets soaking in the history. Alnwick Gardens is home to one of the largest treehouse restaurants in England.
Northumberland is one of the friendliest counties to spend your time and wherever you go, you will be sure of a real warm welcome. This property not suited for anyone with limited mobility access to property is via a flight of stone steps.
