About this property
Fromus Rise, Saxmundham
This three-storey holiday home with parking and a sunny garden, just fifteen minutes from the seaside town of Aldeburgh, is ideal for a holiday or weekend exploring Suffolk. Interiors are stylish and spacious with the perfect ratio of three bath/shower rooms to the three bedrooms (2 king, 1 single).
You’re welcomed into the hallway with carpeted stairs to the first floor and doors to the kitchen, living room and cloakroom. Hard flooring runs throughout the ground floor with rugs and there are doors from the kitchen to the garden at the back.
LIVING/KITCHEN/DINING ROOM
A sociable space with a comfy sitting room furnished with generous seating and handsome antique furniture, opening into the kitchen/dining area with French doors leading out into the back garden.
There’s enough space around the table for everyone to sit together and the kitchen is well-equipped for catering at home with an electric oven and separate grill, four ring hob, microwave, a big fridge/freezer (4 shelves and 2 veg drawers in the fridge; 3 drawers in the freezer), a Nespresso machine (please bring your own pods), a washing machine, kettle and toaster.
FIRST FLOOR
Carpeted stairs take you to the first-floor landing with access to:
BEDROOM ONE WITH EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM
The king-size bed takes pride of place in this light and airy room where you have ample room to unpack and settle in with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside drawers and a dressing table with a stool, plus a wall-mounted TV.
EN-SUITE
The shower cubicle has a hand-held shower, WC and a wash basin.
SINGLE BEDROOM
A fun room for children with some books, cuddly toys and games but equally comfortable for adults as it sits quietly at the back of the house. There's a wardrobe and drawers, plus a pull-out bed which you can use if it suits your group, however, the maximum capacity is five guests and linen won't be provided for it.
BATHROOM
This bright modern bathroom has a shower over it (but no shower curtain or screen so please take care) and there’s a WC, wash basin and natural light.
TOP BEDROOM WITH EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM
Carpeted stairs rise to the small landing on the top floor, with a door to this big bright bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed, bedside drawers, a massive walk-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table with stool, and a handsome armchair. Whilst the room's at the top of the house it is full height, so no challenges for tall guests!
EN-SUITE
The double shower cubicle has a hand-held shower and there's a WC, and wash basin.
GARDEN AND PARKING
This semi-detached house sits in a relatively quiet no through road with a private fully enclosed rear garden furnished with a dining table, chairs, benches, a parasol, and a BBQ so you can enjoy eating outside in the warmer months. You have a private parking space for one car and others can park on the road in front of the house.
Saxmundham is a great base for exploring the Suffolk Coast and Countryside with colourful Aldeburgh, the magical village of Thorpeness and the beautiful Sizewell beach just a 15-minute drive and, to the north, picturesque Southwold with its iconic pier and Lighthouse.
The centre of town is just a short walk through the park (with a playground to keep younger guests entertained!) and has numerous independent shops, a weekly market, a train station with regular service to London, plus a couple of supermarkets.
There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafes to try, both in and around town or a short drive away. You can also visit Snape Maltings; the concert hall is world-renowned and, in addition to the music festival in June and the proms in August, there are many other concerts, exhibitions and events; plus fantastic shops!
