About this property
Tarn Foot Cottage, Duddon Valley, Lake District - A rural retreat set deep within the spectacular D
A truly rural retreat which is set deep within the spectacular Duddon Valley on a working Herdwick sheep farm, perfect for those who love nature & the great outdoors but who value comfort and modern conveniences.
Dating back to the 1700s, this comfortable well equipped detached stone built cottage has been completely renovated & refurbished by The National Trust and its managers, who live nearby.
It is set in the heart of a beautiful mountain valley at Tongue House Farm amongst crags & streams, very quiet & unspoilt with fascinating walks both high & low in all directions.
At the foot of the beck from nearby Seathwaite Tarn, 'Tarn Foot' is also the breed name of the famous family of award winning Lakeland Fell Ponies bred by the previous tenants, which are still winning prizes at local shows.
