Lovely Stay, We Will Be Returning

Myself and my husband booked the cottage for my 50th Birthday celebration with another couple. The cottage is lovely, with a huge cosy lounge and lovely dining/kitchen area. The only comment we would make is there is very little work surface in the kitchen so cooking for 4 or more people is a squeeze. The upstairs was perfectly laid out especially when travelling with another couple as the bedrooms were located at either end of the cottage and could be separately closed off each with a bathroom making both areas private if required. We did find it strange that there were no wardrobes for hanging clothes in 2 of the bedrooms even though there was space for one to be provided, it did mean that we all had to use the wardrobes located in the master bedroom. The location is lovely and quiet with a couple of pubs no more than a 5 minute drive away. The garden was perfect for our dog to run around. We will definitely be making a return visit in the not too distant future.

Lovely, comfy accessible cottage

Lovely cottage! Very comfy and nicely decorated. Lovely sunny conservatory. Lift direct to master suite was great. Nice touch having two beautiful horses in the field next door. Very good communications with manager.

First Time Cotswolds Visit

Amazing stay which we loved. The Cottage and surround area were perfect for our needs and we'd visit again for sure. Only issue we had was the outdoor BBQ clearly hadn't been used nor cleaned in a very long time, old muck and grime was glued on which was a shame.

Home from home, relaxing stay!

The cottage was lovely, just as pictures show. Beds were really comfy, and was a home from home. Bourton-on-the-Water only 30 min drive away, nearest village pub was 25 min walk down country lane.

Very comfortable cottage!

We had a lovely chilled stay at Ivycroft Cottage! Lovely and warm. Nice to have the conservatory and cosy lounge with wood burner. Beds very comfortable. We had a real mix of weather including snow, which we all loved and then the next day sitting out in the sunshine by the conservatory! Good dog walks from the cottage and close by. Housekeeper very helpful with questions and a few queries when we arrived! Would recommend!

A very special cottage with the added bonus of wheelchair accessibility including a lift

We arrived at Ivycroft stressed and grump after a horrendous long journey in terrible weather. The moment we walked in the door we began to relax and over the course of our stay the wonderful welcoming and calming atmosphere of the cottage enabled us both to completely chill out - exactly what we needed. The cottage is actually larger than it seems in the photos which was a pleasant surprise, and the fact that the whole ground floor and the entire master suite is wheelchair accessible thanks to the lift was a major boon. We found ourselves spending days in the bright and airy garden room, which allowed us to enjoy the outdoors despite the weather being at times very wet (we visited in Feb) and then in the evening we would hunker down in the cozy sitting room in front of the log burner. The kitchen was a lovely bright space and had all we needed. Sadly the weather didn't allow us to make full use of the garden, but it is a very attractive space and larger than anticipated. Our only slight issues during our stay were a light bulb out by the front door and a problem with the wifi. The lightbulb was fixed immediately and a temporary solution to the wifi was sorted within the day. The Estate staff we spoke to were all very helpful and made sure we were looked after. The location of the cottage also proved to be ideal as it's very central, allowing us to easily reach a wide range of the Cotswolds attractions. We were sad when our stay came to an end and would love to return.

Beautiful cottage, done to a very high standard

We loved our stay at Ivycroft - the house is immaculate and very well equipped. The location is beautiful in a small, sleepy village (no shop or pub) but is close to Stroud & Circencester and other lovely spots. Beds were super comfortable. Plenty of space for 3 adults, 2 kids and a dog! Elkstone Studios (3 min drive) has a great bakery/brunch spot. Wifi really isn't great but that's probably due to the rural location. Could have used a dishwasher, seemed odd that there wasn't one given that the house is so well equipped otherwise. There's tumble-dryer in the garage but it wasn't near a plug so we couldn't use it and it was hard to dry clothes in the cold weather. But both are minor things and overall we had a great stay!

A lovely stay in a beautiful area but the cottage requires some attention

On arrival the cottage was very cold, no heating was on and it was a very cold night. Knowing guests are arriving it would be prudent to leave the heating on low especially in an old property such as this. The cottage was in a beautiful spot but felt very unhomely, empty spaces and rooms and there was a lot of wasted space which made it feel slightly eerie. The kitchen was poorly equipped and so whilst there was only three of us it was managable but for a family of 6 they would be struggling. In other Stay Cotswold properties we have always found a welcome hamper, and amenities such as washing up liquid, soap and basics however here there was not even a washing up cloth. We had an enjoyable stay but would not choose this property again.

Fabulous!

Everything went smoothly from booking to check out, they couldn’t do enough for us including organising a late checkout, turning up early and leaving a Trailer in the large parking area. The house itself is well equipped with utensils, games, extra blankets if needed, it’s clean and tidy with some stunning features. The garden is secure for our two big German Shepherds and the walks on the doorstep were fabulous. so overall a wonderful holiday had by all. Have already recommended this Cottage to friends for the summer!

Fab location fab fireplace

The cottage has a very homely feeling and has everything you need. We enjoyed having the fire. Beds were comfortable along with the furnishings. We very much enjoyed the location you’re not to far for things but it’s peacefully quiet and we did lots of walks near by. The only downside was the cottage does have damp by both doors and the Matt’s were wet. This didn’t affect us much as they heated the cottage well and we had the fire which started to help dry it out. Had a lovely time regardless.

Lack of crockery and cutlery

The cottage was great for all of our needs except there was a lack of crockery and cutlery. If the cottage is supposed to sleep 6 people then there should be 6 knives and forks etc, there were only 5 and sometimes only 4 of certain items. One person had to eat with a spoon and cooking utensil!

A beautiful character Cotswold stone house in lovely small hamlet

A truly beautiful and comfortable home from which to explore the Cotswolds. The sunroom off the kitchen was delightful. The two double bedrooms spacious and clean and lovely furniture and styling. We loved every aspect of this house with one small, but significant issue: the Wi-Fi. Some of us needed to do some online work and the Wi-Fi did not function and the phone signal was also poor. We were unable to access any streaming services on the tv. So please be honest with future guests that this is an issue and state on the details that this is the case. Much better to be honest and for people to make their own choices. We did reach out to the housekeeper regarding this problem and did receive help, but the Wi-Fi issue never was resolved. There was a need for more cutlery, glasses and hand towels in both the kitchen and downstairs loo, and no kitchen cloth. I requested these and they were delivered. For a house that sleeps six, there was only just enough crockery.
