About this property

Secluded high end home in wine country with views

Truly fantastic views of some of the area’s most famous vineyards (Bethel Heights, Cristom, St Innocent/Zenith, and Kendall Jackson’s Zena Crown) as well as awesome views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Adams and the Coast Range as the house sits atop the Eola-Amity Hills within the Eola-Amity Hills AVA.15 mins to downtown Salem, 20 mins to McMinnville, one hour to Portland and Lincoln City. The views from this ultra-private property at the end of a private road are sure to wow you! You must see to believe, it is hard to oversell how beautiful the view is on a clear day, and the house was built so that every room in the house takes advantage of it.
Open floor plan that is great for entertaining (your friends will be awed) with a large, beautiful kitchen that was remodeled with concrete waterfall countertops and a cool back splash. It has a breakfast bar that opens to the big family room with a fireplace. The room is large and has an entryway from the pool area. There is also a formal dining room that flows into the large living room that has two French doors and an amazing gas fireplace that was remodeled. The powder room on the main floor was newly remodeled and is a stunning contemporary design. The ¾ bathroom on the main floor is conveniently located for rinsing off after a swim in the pool and is located next to the huge laundry room.
The house has 4 beds and 2 more bathrooms upstairs from the grand entryway. The wrap around balcony from the second floor spans the entire house and can be accessed directly from each bedroom. The master bedroom has a gas fireplace, large walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom with double-vanities and a nice shower. Two of the other bedrooms are large and share a bathroom with a double-vanity and tub/shower combo. The last bedroom is a bit smaller but has awesome views like every other room in the house.
The swimming pool is large with a deep end of 8’ and a diving board to enjoy during the amazing Oregon summers. The pool is solar heated, so it is mostly available for use from July to early September. Enjoy the relaxation surrounded by complete silence and privacy to enjoy the stars without city lights getting in the way all year long.
The property is wonderfully landscaped and the interior back yard has an amazing lawn for your children/grandchildren to play. The yard is amazing and the palm trees in the pool area are a great fit.
The pool is not heated from Mid September to the end of June, and no hot tub available.

Nearby vineyard wedding

Great layout and location. Property could use some maintenance - lots of weeds in the patio area around the pool - burned out light bulbs and other minor issues within the house - but otherwise was great.

Just okay

The views are stunning and proximity to a nearby wedding was nice although not walking distance but nothing really is in this area. House is hard to find, need to use Apple Maps otherwise you’ll be lead astray. There were several long black hairs in the bathroom, not the cleanest place. The pool was empty for our stay which we were disappointed about. We were under the impression it might be cold but not that it would be empty so communication was lacking there. Otherwise a very spacious house in a beautiful area.

Relaxing Surroundings, great views!

Needs some attention to detail before it should be called a high end home. Kitchen supplies were lacking (utensils etc…), overall cleanliness needs improvement. With that being said, the views and location were great, it was big enough for our group, and pet friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful base for Salem area

Fantastic views and a comfortable house for a base while visiting family nearby. The pool was quite cold and some minor things could use attention (eg the screen is fading and very hard to read on the oven), but overall highly endorse the house as a place to stay

Roomy with awesome views

This property was perfect for our group. Comfortable and relaxing. Very close to wineries for tasting. Kitchen had what we needed. Wish the hot tub were available and should leave it empty. Check in and check out easy would love to come back in summer to use pool.

Best view ever!

Can’t beat the views from this home. Sitting on top of a hill with views in all directions of the Eola-Amity Hills, one of Oregon’s finest appellations. The home sits in the middle of many beautiful, fine vineyards. The home is roomy with lots of space to entertain, eat, find a quiet corner to relax and enjoy the views! If you’re a gourmet chef, you may find the amenities fall a little short, but overall a very functional space. Owner was responsive when we had a couple minor issues and we were able to make things work. We had a fabulous long weekend with out of state friends and our local family. It was a great base for our wedding, close enough to town , but isolated enough for privacy and relaxation. Loved it!

Great view and nice facility with plenty of space but could be a little cleaner. With a few simple fixes it would be top notch.

Beautiful Family Getaway

Maggie's property was perfect for our family. The location was great for visiting surrounding wineries. Each couple was able to have their own room and plenty of space. We are still in awe of the views from the house. Hope to go back one day!

Great place to celebrate a special occasion

This house was perfect for family and friends to gather to celebrate our son’s graduation from Willamette. We felt like we were way out in the country but it was only 15 minutes out of town. Highly recommend visiting nearby Cristom Vineyards. The only thing that could have made our visit better would have been the pool and hot tub being open to us.

Perfect little staycation

Everything about our trip was perfect; it was easy to check in, the host was available if we needed anything, and the house was comfortable and very clean. My nephew is 18 months and the house was pretty baby proof, there wasn’t anything for him to get into or knock over. The view is incredible from every room and there is a nice yard for the kids and dogs to play in. We cooked our own food the whole time we were there and we had no problems finding things in the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.

Privacy, views, and a private pool oh my!

Had an absolute blast with my family during our long weekend stay. The property was exactly what we were hoping for. Looking to “get away” and relax pool side in the sun with privacy and views. The large home itself was much more than my family of 5 needed as we were outside practically the entire time anyway. It does have a great layout with 4 beds up all with amazing views connected by a huge wrap around deck. Indoor outdoor living areas work great and separate play area for kids. Easy 15 mins to dining, great grocery stores, Starbucks, etc. Maggie was so great and very responsive. She met us upon arrival and walked us through check in which was easy. Would love to come back!

Salem Wine Country

Overall, the house is large and located in a pretty, quiet area with great views. We rented the property for a business trip. It was a good stay and met our needs for this type of travel. However, the living experience inside the house missed the mark. It lacked detail especially around cleanliness and did not offer enough cookware for the size of the house and the amount of people that can comfortably fit there. It's a shame because the house could easily go from average to extraordinary with some attention to detail. Specifically the oven was dirty, inside of the kitchen drawers, and under the kitchen sink were dirty, the washing machine had a terrible smell. Many of the pillows were literally unusable as they were stained very badly with drool/sweat and did not have pillow protectors between the pillow and the pillow case, which, in a rental property is simply gross. The propane for the fireplace was empty and did not get refilled even though we were there for a full seven days. The television in the master bedroom does not work without a fire stick, but there is only one fire stick offered, which is in the family room television, (so you can't use both at the same time). The wifi is slow, if that matters to you, bring your own. Also, the jacuzzi, which would be a great feature to use, does not work and is filthy. In spite of all of those details, the home is pretty, the location is beautiful, and the size is great. The owner was very pleasant and easy to reach.

4couples trip

Pots and pans available aren’t sufficient for a group of 8, we are foodies the fact that the oven didn’t work on this trip was disappointing. The property has fantastic views, but is remote, and the cleaning crew was fair at best. Showers were not cleaned up to a standard you would expect ,my wife had to clean hairs off the floor of the shower before she would get in.. The television also didn’t work, we called the owner and they offered to FaceTime us but no television is available only a Firestick we couldn’t actually get to work. We ended up using our own hotspot and watching the Football game on our 9” iPad.

Restful Retreat

Nice, peaceful, quiet home. Great for a restful retreat. Lots of space, and the flow of the home and views are lovely. The house is peaceful, and I found the decor restorative and soothing. The home was not very clean when we entered, not dirty, just not quite what you would expect for a high end property. The pool was not useable due to the wasps nests at the house and fear of being stung, we stayed indoors, or made a car dash when going out to sight-see.

Pool and view are great

The best thing about this place is the pool and the gorgeous view. Wonderful to swim in the lovely sunshine. The house is ok. Kitchen isn’t the best stocked and the fridge is quite small for a house that sleeps that many. Bring your own coffee filters , there are none. Finding the place was a problem, all of us were lost for quite a while. I spoke with the owner who answered right away and she helped us find the place though her instructions were not great. Hot tub is broken and should be removed from the amenities list.

Nice House --Pool and Hot Tub Were Not Working

The house and grounds are very nice and there is plenty of room for a group to spread out. The kitchen was well supplied. We were a group of friends attending a bicycle ride and were very disappointed to learn that neither the hot tub nor the pool were working. The hot tub looked like it hadn't worked in quite a while. We had plumbing issues with a bathroom and shower drain. The hosts promptly responded when told about these issues and repairs were made the same day. Bring food with you if you intend to cook at the house -- there wasn't a grocery store nearby.

Absolutely beautiful view, great location, and amazing house.

This was a wonderful house in a great location with lots of space for everyone to run around. The owner was nice and was pretty responsive. There were some small challenges. We did not find a house manual outline check in and check out, tv or heat instructions. This was a problem because it was cold that weekend AND when we wanted to relax and watch a movie we couldn't do it. The house was minimally decorated, which was fine. It was nice. Couches were nice and the beds were okay. We had a challenge with adequate lightening in the bedrooms at night because there were only a few side table lamps in a few of the rooms. The kitchen was nice and relatively well appointed but the coffee that was supplied was all decaf. We of course did not get to swim because the pool is not heated, which they tell you very clearly up front. The hot tub is not in use and in fact is in bad condition and I worried about someone stepping on the broken cover and falling in. But with that said, I would rent it again (if they'd let me). It is a beautiful house that fit the whole family. I am grateful it was available.

We are a young family with a daughter and a son who live in Portland with our Bernese Mountain Dog Durango.

Why they chose this property

We used to live in this beautiful home but now live closer to work, though we still love to enjoy the property when we get the chance. We plan to retire to the home. The views are fantastic and it is very peaceful. It is truly a special property.

What makes this property unique

Ultra-private home on the top of a hill with no neighbors within 200 yards. The pool is a super-cool bonus!
