About this property
Barn conversion with private pool - Yew Tree Barn
THE POOL IS NOT SHARED. In the grounds of a rare house painted by John Constable stands a newly converted barn in the heart of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Being slightly elevated on the edge of a small village with access to a secluded swimming pool, makes for a standout friends and family getaway. With tasteful interior design, including large and impressive artworks, the barn is aesthetically pleasing, enjoys beautiful light and is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Beneath mature trees with outdoor dining and pool terraces, there is loads of private space to enjoy rural alfresco living.
Ground Floor
Sitting & Dining Room - At one end of this well-proportioned solid-oak-floored space is a large square coffee table and two voluptuous three seater sofas facing a 42" Smart TV below one of the many striking paintings by well known local artists. At the other end is seating for six to eight people with a settle adapted from an old Spanish headboard, wooden dining table and five matching chairs. This open plan living room provides an antique desk and chair and French windows opening straight onto the outdoor dining terrace.
Kitchen - Fully modernised and with lovely west facing views over a well-kept lawn and country side beyond. Under pristine white marbled worktops is a dishwasher, electric oven and ample storage. There is also a full-size fridge & freezer, electric five ring hob, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. The outside door is used for maintenance access only and kept locked.
Wash & Utility Room - There is a lavatory, hand basin and washer/dryer machine.
First Floor
Landing - At the top of the stairs from the kitchen is a large, airy landing with bespoke display cabinets showcasing an impressive array of model cars.
Bathroom - With tasteful matching cabinetry, twin hand-basins, lavatory, and bath with handheld and full hight showers.
Twin Bedroom - Two full size single beds that can be joined to make a King-size, bedside table and lamp and freestanding clothes hanging rail.
Master Bedroom - King-sized bed with matching bedside tables and reading lamps, a corner antique desk and walk-in cupboard.
Outside
Parking Area - Secured courtyard with parking for three cars. Occasionally the owner will need to enter the parking area to access a separate part of the barn while fully respecting guests privacy.
Dining Terrace - From the Sitting & Dining Room and below mature pollarded lime trees is a garden bench, round table with four chairs, charcoal BBQ and steps and ramp access to the swimming pool.
Pool Terrace - Flanked by wooden trellising and paved all round is a large thirty foot family swimming pool that is in use from mid May to mid September and heated to a target temperature of 26˚C / 79˚F. Adjacent to a wide flower bed is a sun deck with six full length sun loungers and a round iron table with four chairs.
