Nice and comfortable house, convenient location to the beach and a lots of restaurants.
The landlord and the management are easy to reach and very helpful
We enjoyed staying there.
My friends and I had a fantastic time staying at this listing. The house has plenty of space for 4-5 adults working remotely and is conveniently located near H1 for easy access to afterwork & weekend excursions. The noise isolation is great for people in different virtual meetings. Our dog loved the enclosed backyard.
Expect to do some small upgrades to maximize your comfort. We had no problems with smell (none of the smoke mentioned in an older review), but did purchase an air filter to clear out some dust for someone in our group who had particularly sensitive allergies. We also purchased a second wifi router to get wifi coverage for the entire house. These are negligible costs compared to the price of the listing.
The Internet is generally very fast. We all work tech jobs and found the high-speed connection to be sufficient for placing video calls and downloading large amounts of data in real-time. We did have some connection problems during the week of flash flooding when Hawaii was in a state of emergency, but it seemed like everyone on the island was experiencing difficulties.
The kitchen is spacious and fully stocked. The dishwasher is a lifesaver for a large group. The house manager is communicative and responsive.
In summary, this listing is a real gem and we hope to book it again in the future. Mahalo!
Great location and space for large family. Older house but comfy!

Just like the other detailed reviews say - Great place to stay BUT....
Brief version:
+ Accommodated all 15 of us(11 adults and 4 children)
+ 4 bathrooms
+ Adequate supply of beach necessities such as snorkeling gear, body boards, life jackets, etc...
- no bathroom door locks in main house, sliding door kept falling off rail bolt
- lack of pictures of interior and exterior made this a gamble
- inoperable motorized gate on the corner of a busy street so we had to have someone jump out to open and close the gate
If you want a more detailed review, read the other long ones below. They sum it up very well. I agree that this is a place to just sleep and keep your belongings while you're out and about. We wouldn't want to spend too much time here as a big group in one room as there just wouldn't be enough space.
Since the description is also a bit lacking, here is the setup of the house. It is a single story main house with a 2 story addition out back. The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The addition's lower level has a 1/2 bath with bunk beds and a pool table while the upper level has a living room, full bath, and a bedroom. This setup was good for a multi-family trip as was our case.

Large Home that met our needs!
We're a local family of 3 living on Oahu. We needed a bigger place to house our family who was visiting for the weekend. A total of 8 of us stayed here. This was an ideal home that met all of our needs. We each had our own bedrooms and the kids could stay in the living room if they wanted to. The kitchen was large and came with all the necessities for our stay. A nice addition to this home was the game room, although we didn't make use of it, it would make your stay that much more enjoyable. It is an ideal location (great accessibility) for any visitor to the island. I'm happy we were able to find this gem, and surprisingly enough it was available on a Holiday weekend. Very affordable and convenient. Mahalo!

Very Comfortable and Spacious
We had a total of nine people staying here and we had no difficulty with sleeping arrangements and there was plenty of bathroom availability as well. We also rented the back Granny apartment and game room which was a bit hot during the day, but as we were in Hawaii we didn't spend too much time in doors during the day, and at night, with the windows open and the breeze blowing, it was perfectly comfortable. All at a very reasonable price too.

Large home, location inconvenient, dirty, smelled of smoke
We stayed here with a large family of 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The house was at best spacious with lots of beds. There were lots of utensils for the kitchen and left over spices exc from other renters. It's more like a local home that someone used to rent monthly and is a bit run down. The house could use a thorough clean as it smelled like cigarettes with or without the air conditioners on. Any type of movement around the house and dust would stir up form corners or cracks not thoroughly cleaned. The first morning we went to use the coffee maker and it was still dirty from previous use! There is also lots of rules to abide by or you'll be charged that isn't disclosed until after you've made a deposit to rent the home. Such as take out the trash and recycle while staying. Which is completely fine because we used the kitchen our entire stay, but no extra trash bags were provided. We contacted the property manager and she said she would not provide more and that we would have to buy some from the store. All towels were accounted for and if any were missing you would be charged $25 a piece. Ok understandable people take towels. If furniture is moved and not placed back you would be charged a moving fee. There is furniture everywhere! The master bed is on the floor and very used and old. The other rooms beds were OK but again old. If you think the location is convenient its not really. Waikiki is at least a 15-20 min drive and thats not with traffic, which Oahu is known for. The house is also right off the freeway/highway so lots of noise at night, even with the windows closed and AC running. Hawaii Kai is beautiful but the "beach" that is walking distance is not a white sand, lay at the beach if thats what you're looking for. The park nearby is where people take their dogs to exercise, you don't see beach goers or families there for a beach day. Hanauma Bay is close by, if you have a car. I really just could not get over the smell of smoke as soon as you enter the house. Even with the windows open and the breeze it was suffocating. With 2 toddlers it was very concerning for me, luckily we only stayed 4 nights.
Pros:
Spacious
Activities (pool table, ping pong, foosball)
Beds
Linen
Towels
Kitchen Use
Cons:
House smelled of cigarette smoke
Dirty needs thorough clean
House Rules
Location
Overall we would not rent this home again, especially for a vacation. It's more for locals just visiting family and not planning to use the house.

Lots of space!
I was nervous since there is limited photos of the property, but it was nice!
We were a group of 8, on island for a conference, it was nice to have a house instead of a hotel room to relax in and come and go as we want!
Everything was where we expected, a boogie board or 2 were broken, but still had 4 to take with us to the beach! And snorkel gear!!!
We enjoyed our stay!

perfect location
Everything was great and as expected. The house is perfectly located. Cool layout with the game room separate from the main living area. A nice well manicured fenced yard with a gate to bring your car in. Friendly neighborhood for morning walks to watch the sunrise. Best deal in Hawaii Kai by far.

I would stay here again
This is a 1970's type house in good condition with just a few minor problems. One of the window air conditioners didn't work and with a simple phone call it was replaced that day.
We liked the gated parking and shopping is close including a COSTCO. We were ready to book another week in July for another baseball tournament but the dates were taken.

Fun Family House
The house is fun for a big family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very close to Hanauma Bay and other activities. The house is a little old and has some condition issues but nothing that will cause you not to have a great time.

GRADUATION FAMILY
The house was better than we expected. All the accomodations were included and we had plenty of space. Access to activities were good, not too far out of town. The beach which is walking ditance from the house was not as user friendly as we would have liked, but overall not bad. I would definetly reccommend this property to anyone.

Convenient, comfortable beach house
My girlfriends and I stayed at this house recently and we had a very nice vacation. The house itself is older (60s or 70s?) and has seen some better days. It's very much suited as a 'beach house' style, so do not expect lux accommodations. It's spacious and includes a separate flat in the back, but we only stayed in the main house.
Location: Very convenient, directly off of a major highway with access to the H1 freeway. It was nice to stay outside of the busy Honolulu area, and still have direct access to town. As it's off of the highway, light sleepers might want to bring earplugs. Lots of amenities nearby (grocery stores, drug stores etc.) and very close to Hanauma Bay.
The house: While the pictures do reflect what some of the property looks like, we were a little disappointed in person. It could definitely use some upkeeping. We kept discovering odd little things - closet doors that were broken/off hinges, cupboard doors off hinges, no trash can in the bathroom etc. On the last night, we discovered laundry in the dryer - still damp. I think whomever cleaned the place forgot to take it out before we arrived. We also discovered that the recycling bin was full to the brim, a day too late for us to take it to be picked up. There is no ping pong table / pool table nor a computer that this post mentions (there is wifi). We also could not find the telephone, or boogie boards/beach equipment that the additional instructions mentioned. The linens and towels provided were clean and plentiful. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking equipment and there is a large grill under the covered parking. There is cable TV and a DVD player with speakers, but it took us awhile to figure out how to use. There is also an XBox, but no controllers in sight. The owners are not locally based, so maybe they haven't seen the property in awhile?
If you are looking for a clean, beach house property to stay at, this house will work out fine for you, but be aware that it's not in top condition.
