About this property
Ffynnon Dawel (quiet spring) - an idyllic hideaway
Set in a beautiful south facing valley, Ffynnon Dawel is a lovely old fashioned stone built semi detached cottage, with beamed fireplaces, stone floors and wooden ceilings. We live in the cottage next door, and you will have shared access to 4 acres of gardens and woodland, and a stream running through adjoining bluebell woods where you can go for long walks. It is about 10 mins walk to a friendly pub which does a good traditional Sunday lunch, and an easy 3 miles to Cardigan riverside market town where there are good cafes and restaurants, bakeries, and a cinema. It is less than 15 minutes drive to beautiful sandy beaches such as Poppit, Tresaith and Mwnt, where dolphins often play.
Our place has been described as 'A little piece of paradise', and here you can feel the gentle tranquility of the Welsh countryside. It is perfect for children to safely explore and play. There is a large well equipped kitchen dining room downstairs, with a wood burning stove ( we supply you with firewood) and we provide breakfast goods including home laid eggs ( unless the hens are on strike!), teas, coffee, oils herbs and spices. Upstairs is a double bedroom, and a single bedroom (which can be set up with a comfortable camp bed or a cot for a second child or infant) plus bathroom. The double bedroom connects to a cosy sitting room, with single futon chairbed. There are a range of board games, books and toys. We are keen organic gardeners, so there are fresh herbs and in summer there are often salad vegetables available from the garden.
When you arrive you will park in our little carparking area and walk down a short woodland path and across a little bridge to the house ( we provide a wheelbarrow to help shift your luggage, please feel free to ask if you need extra help), You then have direct access to the garden and a footpath across the stream and through the woods which stretch for over a mile.
