Why they chose this property
Some of the best things to do in London are in Holborn, an area that is part of the quirky Camden Borough (best known for its open-air markets, unique clothes shops and numerous bars and restaurants). Holborn is famous for its many restaurants, museums and galleries, and the area is one of the best places to stay in the British capital. Here are the best things to do in Holborn.
Visit the Old Curiosity Shop
Have you ever heard of the only shop in London that didn't burn down during the Great Fire of London? No? Here's your chance... The Old Curiosity Shop is a curiosity in itself. Although probably not the actual shop mentioned in Charles Dickens' novel (it was suspiciously renamed after the novel was written), Dickens, who lived in the nearby Bloomsbury area, was known to frequent the shop.

What makes this property unique
Built in the 16th century, it miraculously survived the Great Fire of London, which burnt down most of London, including Shakespeare's Globe Theatre! Today it is used as a showcase for a bespoke shoe designer. Also, it looks rather funny amongst all the modern LSE buildings and gleaming apartment blocks! What do you think?
The Sir John Soane Museum and the Hunterian Museum are on either side of the square. If you are visiting London and want to see London on a budget, I recommend buying a sandwich nearby and sitting in the green space.
Admire the treasures of the Sir John Soane Museum
This little-known gem is loved by almost everyone who visits and is probably my favourite museum in the world. Built by Sir John Soane (who designed the façade of the Bank of England) in the late 1700s/early 1800s, he passed an Act of Parliament to donate the museum to the country and preserve the beautiful interior. Think dark corridors and an incredible amount of architecture squeezed into a tiny space.
