It started with a rat and got worse!
This unit has been misrepresented and in no way resembles the words or photos used in the Vrbo property detail.
Once inside, we found a rat in the very scary, seedy, filthy hallway. We called the owner immediately, who said cleaners had just been there & promised they would send someone right away. They never came. (We know this because when we went out a while later, the rat was still in the hall.) We carried our luggage past the rat up three flights of very narrow stairs (not mentioned in the listing) to the flat. We found the lounge room to be tidy and similar to the photo in the listing, but began to find things in disrepair. I.e. the windows had broken glass; the remote would turn on the tv, but not change any channel or adjust volume; there was garbage and junk under the bed; lampshades torn and broken; side of the tub cracked and covered in grimy film; non-slip mat moldy; exhaust fan completely blocked by dirt, hair, grime; and that wasn’t the worst of it! The deadbolt on the entry door wouldn’t latch so we never really felt safe. The kitchen was so dirty, we couldn’t…wouldn’t think of using it. The refrigerator was gross, the sink was dirty, and everything appeared grimy. The worst was the fact that there was no hot water in the bathtub. We were forced to bathe with cold water or use just the sink and a cloth. But as I write this, I’m reminded it was ALL the worst.
When asked for refund, owner said NO because it wasn’t supposed to be luxury, only basic.
