About this property
The Bungalow, Forest of Dean
This detached Bungalow is located in the heart of the magnificent Forest of Dean, which in Medieval times was a royal hunting forest, close to the Wye Valley AONB, with great views of the forest from the many windows, yet within easy reach of the many attractions in the area, such as Goodrich Castle, Cannop cycle centre, Dean Forest Railway, The Sculpture Trail, Clearwell Caves and the stunning Symonds Yat, to name a few. Canoe and Bike hire easily accessible locally
The Bungalow itself has 2 good-sized bedrooms, an extremely large kitchen diner, a gorgeous bathroom and a lovely lounge with Smart tv, Netfix and unlimited broadband supplied, also a good selection of board games and books for those rainy days.
The property has a large, fully enclosed, wrap around garden with 2 seating areas overlooking our paddock where our neighbour's horse often can be seen.
There is a gated drive with parking for 3 cars, with additional parking to the side gate for larger vehicles, and a lockable bike shed.
The Bungalow is surrounded by glorious walks and bike trails in every direction, walk for miles without any traffic, maybe spot a deer or the many sheep wandering freely, or glimpse a wild boar that the Forest of Dean is famous for, a short stroll up the lane will take you to the viewpoint which has fantastic views to the Brecon Beacons and Welsh mountains
Set in a tiny hamlet called The Pludds, meaning puddle or pond in Olde English, is a former mining area, approx 208m above sea level, the nearest pub is called the Royal Spring, tucked away down a small lane, 1.5 miles away or a 5 minute drive, as the name suggests a spring runs beside the lovely garden and also serves good, reasonably priced food.
The Bungalow is located in a very quiet, peaceful area, in a no through lane, access via Royal Oak rd, not the Forest track, in one of the last, truly unspoilt areas of England.
Enjoy.
