About this property
Cnwc Y Bran, Fishguard
Cnwc Y Bran at Garnllys occupies a spectacular site, nestled beneath the Garn (rocky outcrop) with wonderful views across the rolling countryside to Fishguard Bay and the Preseli Hills. Cnwc Y Bran, a barn conversion, adjoins Y Bwthyn and the main farmhouse is nearby (both also holiday cottages).
As there is limited light pollution a full display of stars (with some planets) can be viewed on a clear night. Sunrises are often spectacular.
Most of the Garnllys land is actively farmed, but there are footpaths to Rhos Y Clegyrn (moor of stones) and to nearby prehistoric monuments, including a Neolithic cromlech (ca 3500 BC) and an impressive standing stone. There are sweeping views from the granite outcrops. The low-lying moor features unusual wild flowers and butterflies.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is within walking distance, and the regular shuttle bus service makes various coastal walks possible between Fishguard and St David's. There are plenty of local outdoor activities, including bird watching, kayaking, pony trekking and mountain biking. Alternatively, time can just be spent at the cottage unwinding and enjoying the peaceful countryside.
