About this property
Goitre Bach, Llangrannog
Goitre Bach is a comfortable easy-access detached cottage, offering a home-from-home feel. Overlooking open countryside and situated in the peaceful village of Llwyncelyn near New Quay, Ceredigion , it offers the perfect combination of a peaceful stay with amenities on the doorstep. A lovely cottage for a relaxing stay.
The cottage is just a short walk from a small shingle beach which in turn leads onto the Cardigan Bay Coast path. The popular Moody Cow restaurant, pub, farm shop and soft play are within walking distance across the peaceful countryside and there is a village store within walking distance for groceries. Just 2 miles away is the picturesque harbour town of Aberaeron, with unique shops and good restaurants providing the finest foods from locally sourced ingredients. Various events are held throughout the summer, such as a seafood festival, a cider and beer festival, a festival celebrating Welsh ponies and cobs, a mackerel festival, a carnival and more.
Inland, you can explore the lush Aeron Valley and visit the National Trust mansion at Llanerchaeron, an elegant Georgian villa set in the wooded Aeron Valley. Enjoy a coffee and a cake here before taking a leisurely stroll back alongside the old railway path through the woodland to the Georgian town of Aberaeron.
For the more adventurous, the nearby Llain Activity Centre offers high ropes, archery, climbing and sailing.
Keen walkers will find 60 miles of glorious coastal path in Cardigan Bay. The beaches and coves at Cwm Tydu, Llangrannog, Tresaith and Aberporth are just a short distance away and other places of interest include the quaint seaside fishing village of New Quay with its sandy beaches, boat trips to see the dolphins, surfing and kayaking. A little further away is Aberystwyth, with its pier and promenade, shops and restaurants. Perhaps take the steam railway to Devils Bridge to explore the wonderful waterfalls and hills.
