About this property
Y Gegin Fach, Cardigan
Y Gegin Fach is situated in the grounds of the historic 500 hundred-year-old farmhouse Penrallt Cadwgan in Roshill near Cardigan. Y Gegin Fach takes its name from the Welsh for ' little kitchen' and was once used as the cookhouse for the main farmhouse.
The property itself is noted as a place of historical interest in many books. In the history of Cilgerran 1867, they mention Penrallt Cadwgan being the residence of an ancient Welsh Prince or chieftain - whose name was Cadwgan.
Fantastic views through large patio doors to the landscaped gardens and woodland join onto lovely walkways through meadows to the historic village of Cilgerran. Here you will find pubs, tea room, local shop and post office. It also has a castle, and you must also visit the Welsh Wildlife Centre with nature trails, willow maze, resident water buffalo and friendly giant willow otter. It has a great café and beautiful walks
Just a short drive away is the market town of Cardigan with its wonderful independent shops, many cafes and eateries, bars and restaurants, galleries, local cinema and theatre. The restored castle is nearby, open to the public, and worth visiting. There are also many of Wales' best beaches within a short distance - definitely plenty to see and do.
