We loved the Silo

A real find in every way! We were bowled over by the beautiful interior design of the Silo, the attention to detail and the wonderful interior light. It was a joy to relax in such a peaceful, rural setting which offered such easy access to many favourite haunts from our past. A great base for a wonderful stay.

A property of mixed feelings

Feels like a split review, location is brilliant for walks, great views and easy to walk to local touristy areas and walk around to avoid traffic. Downsides, expensive for 6 and no way you’d operate with that many. All the bathrooms are through a bedroom so lack of privacy and the hand basins are tiny, impossible to brush your teeth or wash hands without getting water everywhere and only one shower and in the other bathroom a very small bath, there is only one sofa so you’d be sitting at the dinning room table if more than 2 of you so not really sociable space and TV in a place you can’t see from the sofa if you want to wash. If you had kids in the top room (steep curved staircase) it’s a long way for you to hear them from the ground floor so would need kids of a certain age and beds aren’t single. Bruern farm shop is quite small so don’t go thinking you could necessarily get everything for a meal but nice bread and frozen meat. In summary, great for 2 and our dog, we had a brilliant week but not sure would work for more so quite expensive.

Great stay

Lovely place.great views. No milk was left for us. Had problems with the shower, which needs sorting out. But would stay again. No teapot. On a personal note would prefer larger bath towels. Very little space to hang clothes, cut down on drawers?
