About this property
The Anchorage, Aberporth
The Anchorage, a modern light-filled bungalow with its own private garden is only a short distance from the sea in the popular village of Aberporth on Cardigan Bay in West Wales. With scenic Ceredigion Coast Path nearby and easy access to the beach, the bungalow is a superb base for families, a walking holiday, or a relaxing break for couples. The single-storey accommodation has a comfortable lounge with a log burner for relaxing evenings after a day on the beach. A bright conservatory leading to the outside seating area overlooking the garden is perfect for al-fresco meals or drinks and planning your activities.
The Anchorage is in a quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac but within easy walking distance of Aberporth village amenities including a shop, restaurants, pub, takeaways, post office, chemist, and a great café overlooking the beach. If you don't want to drive, there is a bus service to Cardigan or Aberystwyth from the village. Aberporth's two sandy beaches are great for swimming, water sports, and exploring the rock pools at low tide and one beach is dog-friendly all year round.
Ceredigion Coast Path passes through the village, and it is an easy walk along the partly surfaced path to Tresaith which has a sandy beach and a seaside pub with stunning views. The National Trust beach at Penbryn and the popular village and beaches at Llangrannog are further north. Watch out for the resident bottlenose dolphins which are regularly seen in Cardigan Bay. New Quay is a short drive away and offers dolphin spotting boat trips and water sports.
The market town of Cardigan is 7 miles away and has supermarkets, shops with a wide range of locally produced crafts and foods, pubs, cafés, galleries, and a castle. Further afield the Cambrian Mountains to the north and Tenby and the Pembrokeshire coast to the south are fascinating day trips.
