Kirkmay House Apartment
Kirkmay House is an impressive and handsome listed building set within well-maintained grounds just off the historic Marketgate, Crail. Kirkmay House Apartment is on the entry level of this grand former hotel and offers stunning, stylish and comfortable accommodation for four guests. From the moment you catch a glimpse of Kirkmay House through the stone pillared entrance then make your way up the sweeping staircase, you’ll be charmed with its elegance.
Once in the Apartment, the accommodation is laid out on one level with all rooms leading off an L shaped hallway. To the front is the impressive lounge with high ceilings and full height window flooding the space with sunlight. The dining kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay and a dreamy outlook to the garden with tree swing which is bound to be hit with younger guests! The main bedroom has a king bed with large front facing window whilst the twin bedroom has an outlook to the grounds to the rear. There is a shower room with walk in shower enclosure. Each space within Kirkmay House Apartment is decorated in fresh tones, beautifully accessorised with coastal touches.
The grounds surrounding the property has lawned areas, pretty bursts of colour with rockeries and flower beds and several spots to sit and catch the sun. There is allocated parking for one vehicle and parking also available on street.
Crail is a charming and quaint village with a historic harbour, cobbled streets and traditional cottages. With miles of coastal path, sandy bays and rocky shorelines, stunning scenery and plenty fresh sea air, there’s a gentle pace of life where you can truly switch off and relax. Fife is known for its fantastic food and drink and Crail has a butcher, baker and greengrocer as well as coffee shops, fish and chip shop, restaurants, bars and even a harbourside hut selling freshly prepared lobster and crab. Crail also hosts several festivals throughout the year, making the most of the vibrant music and arts scene in the East Neuk.
Golfers are spoilt for choice with Crail Golfing Society- the seventh oldest in the world!- just one of the many courses within close proximity, including Anstruther, Elie, Dumbarnie Links, Kingsbarns and of course, The Old Course.
Kirkmay House Apartment is ideally suited to a small family, couples or even friends travelling together. The attention to detail and high quality throughout will be the perfect setting for your East Neuk break in a real ‘home from home’.

Check in time is from 4pm. Please do not arrive earlier than this- our changeover staff need protected time to carry out the changeover to the required standards.
If you are happy to self check in, there is a keybox at the property which can be used. Alternatively, we can arrange to meet guests on arrival if requested (where available). Please contact us if an assisted check in is your preference.

As you come into Crail (from Anstruther) drive along High St and take the second exit at the mini roundabout. Continue along Marketgate and you will see Kirkmay on the left about halfway along the street. The allocated parking is directly in front of the third garage from the right.
The external and first internal door is open. The keybox at Kirkmay House Apartment is located on the wall at the apartment door which is on your left as you enter the main entrance. The keybox code will be shared directly with you. Please make sure you have this before you arrive.
Open the cover, turn the dials to show the code then press the black button down firmly to allow you to pull the front of the box forwards. Please close the box and scramble the numbers when you have removed the keys. The mortice key should be used first and then the smaller key in the lock on the handle.
Once you are in the property the door can be locked by turning the handle and unlocked again by pushing the handle in then turning. You only need to use the mortice lock to secure the property when it is vacant.
There is an information folder within the house which has instructions for the heating, wifi codes etc but you can of course contact us if you have any questions. Our offices are open Mon- Fri 9.15am-5pm, Saturday 10am-1pm. If you require us urgently during your stay outside of our office hours please text us on 07758 165090.
Bed linen and towels are included in your rental costs.
