About this property
Pass the Keys | Tor-View Glastonbury Home with pod & garden
5 minutes' walk from the Abbey & Glastonbury High St - this sunny Edwardian cottage-style house with garden pod has a beautiful, private garden at the foot of legendary Wearyall Hill. Close to all shops & historic sites as well as the Tor & Chalice Well (10 min).
This Tor-view home has flexible sleeping options - perfect for family or friends sharing in two bedrooms (one double, one bunk beds) plus sofa bed and pod for two. The garden has recliners for relaxing & outdoor dining.
The space
This lovely period cottage is well organised and comfortable. It has everything you need. It faces south so the sun pours into the front windows making it very warm and cosy. The kitchen/dining area overlooks the garden which is west facing and sunny.
There is another table in the living room which can be used for home working or dining.
The living area and kitchen diner are downstairs. The charming double bedroom, second smaller bedroom with triple sleeper bunks and modern shower bathroom are upstairs. There is also a very comfortable Futon Company single sofa bed in the sitting room. All beds are pine and with memory foam mattresses.
There is a second (older) downstairs bathroom with toilet, basin and full bath with shower above which is accessed via the kitchen/utility room or via the garden back door. This is further from the bedroom, but is useful for daytime use as downstairs toilet and also for those who prefer a full bath. It is also accessed via the back door for those sleeping in the pod!
It's a very peaceful, light and happy home. The garden is always available for your use and there will be lounger chairs available for relaxation. People comment on how peaceful the garden is - yet you are just 5 minutes walk from central Glastonbury.
Guest access
The main house is accessed via your private entrance front door. The stairs rise immediately inside the door up to the top floor, where the bedrooms and the main shower bathroom are located. There is a further door at the base of the stairs which leads into the cosy living room with single sofa bed, dining table/desk and window seat. Leading from the living room is the modern kitchen/diner with pine dining table and four stools.
The private garden and pod are accessed through the kitchen and utility room as well as separately via a side gate to the left of the house and is available for guests to enjoy at all times.
There is a utility area (washing machine, dryer) beyond the guest kitchen which is accessed from the garden or house. There is an (older) full bathroom downstairs with bath, shower above and toilet and which is useful as a daytime downstairs toilet, for someone sleeping on the sofa bed downstairs, or for someone preferring a full bath as well as those using the pod.
Other things to note
The open fire in the living room cannot be used for a fire. There is a fire pit outside.
