About this property
The Gate House (D), Docking, Norfolk
This beautifully appointed contemporary Gothic style gate house in Docking, with chic luxurious, spacious interiors channelling an ultra relaxing, cool eccentric style, is the ultimate getaway choice for discerning couples, friends and smaller families. Just four miles inland from Norfolk's glorious coastline and with easy access to the many local attractions in this beautiful area, make sure you get ahead of the crowd.
Sitting in Docking's Conservation Area, and within the private grounds of The Old Rectory, The Gate House was built in 2023 on the footprint of a former dwelling, and fits perfectly into its tranquil environment. Of traditional brick and pebble construction, externally it's an elegant and rather glamorous property that promises to be a jewel within. And a jewel it is. As you enter through the side door into the hallway, the promises start to unfold to reveal a quietly sophisticated, while utterly relaxing, environment throughout. Turning right, you are presented with an impressive L-shaped dual aspect living space, part divided by a staircase wall featuring a striking three-sided inset wood burning stove which adds warmth and a temperate glow to each area of the living space. The capacious kitchen overlooking the garden evokes a country style chic, and provides everything an enthusiastic cook could possibly need. At the other end of the room, to the left of the staircase, is a dining area blessed with cantilevered pendant lighting which helps create an intimate dining experience. When it's time to take a soft seat and chill, an invitingly warm-hued vaulted sitting room reveals itself around the corner of the wood burning stove, and you can enjoy the sighs of delight as you sink into the cushion bedecked sofas.
Returning to the entrance hall, turn left and you walk into the first of the two seductive bedrooms, each with a luxurious bed dressed with fine linen, and its own lavish bathroom suite. The vast master bedroom suite on the ground floor has a modern four poster bed and a free-standing bath tub, with twin mirrored wash basins to either side within the room, and a wetroom style fully-tiled shower tucked behind. The second bedroom is reached via the staircase that leads up from the dining room onto a landing, where the mezzanine overlooks the sitting room below. At the far end you will find the second bedroom, a super-king zip and link bed, that can be converted into twin beds if desired, with a separate bathroom next door, again with a bath and separate shower option. Outside, to the front of the house, is a newly landscaped garden with young planting. This area is fully enclosed with wire mesh fencing, so you can relax and leave dogs and children free to explore. Garden furniture is available for when warmer weather and outdoor dining are the order of the day.
The Gate House is a very tempting option all around the year. With grand country houses to visit, stunning local beaches to stretch your legs and explore, while breathing in fresh salty air (perhaps take a dip?), some fabulous local restaurants to tempt your taste buds and boutiques, lifestyle stores and art galleries galore to test your purse strings.

One well-behaved dog welcome at an additional charge of £75.
