About this property
Idyllic Cotswolds Cottage & Garden, Nr Burford
Summary:
Nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Cotswolds lies this quintessential cottage for 6 (plus 2 babies). Inside, find a perfect harmony of old & new. The contemporary kitchen is complimented by exposed wooden beams. Meanwhile, a wood-burning stove and mullion windows are undeniably charming. After busy days exploring the nearby Cotswold villages, such as Burford or Charlbury, settle in for the night. Enjoy alfresco meals in your private garden or sink into the sofa with a board game on the go.
The Space:
This beautiful cottage invites you to enjoy a cosy country getaway just outside the idyllic village of Leafield. You’re a stone's throw from many of the Cotswolds’ most-loved villages, such as Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Charlbury. Plus, there are ample walks to enjoy straight from the door.
Inside, it’s a perfect mix of modern and character. Expect original timber beams, a log-burning stove and mullion windows. Rustle up delicious homecooked meals in your open-plan farmhouse kitchen - there’s everything you need and more. When the weather’s on your side, spill out into the garden for alfresco meals in the sunshine. And when the weather turns, cosy up in your living room for a film night on the Smart TV.
Upstairs, three comfortable bedrooms sleep six adults in total. There are also options for 2 babies and beds for an extra two young children on request. The master has a king-size bed and next door there is a bedroom with a bunk bed. Upstairs, the attic room has a double bed plus two single beds (these are in the eaves with low head clearance, so only suitable for young children). All have beautiful views out over the surrounding countryside - best enjoyed with a cup of tea in bed! The bedrooms share a well-maintained family bathroom with a bath and shower.
In addition, there is a large selection of toys, books and games, 2 highchairs, a BabyBjorn carrier and a baby monitor. So we are very well equipped for families.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole property and garden.
The Neighborhood:
Little Langley is located on a quiet, rural road just outside of Leafield, Oxfordshire. Situated rurally, where there are no street lights, very few neighbours and no busy roads, it is easy to find and close to the crown jewels of the Cotswolds. Burford is just a 10-minute drive away, plus you are within easy reach of Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cirencester and Bibury.
You will find a plethora of fantastic pubs all on the doorstep, including The Fox in Leafield and The Swan Inn in Swinbrook. In the local vicinity, you will also find the Wychwood Wild Gardens, Blenheim Palace, and Cornbury Park - each summer, the fabulous Wilderness Festival is also held nearby. For the avid shoppers, the famous Bicester Village retail outlet is also close by.
The cottage makes an excellent base for walking, cycling, shopping and eating - there is so much to do in this beautiful corner of the world. Find more local tips and tricks in our Guest Guide, which is available upon booking.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of the cottage, we highly recommend bringing a vehicle for your stay.
Other Things to Note:
The property is split over the ground floor, first floor and second floor, which are all accessed via stairs. Therefore the attic bedroom may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations.
Please keep in mind that the property is best set up for 6 guests. Whilst it can sleep an additional 2 young children on request, space may be limited with 8 guests.
Due to the rural location of the cottage, we have laid preventative mouse traps to deter any intruders! These are all concealed inside the property apart from one which can be found in the downstairs cupboard where the vacuum is stored. It is tucked away under a ledge inside the cupboard so is not easily accessible. There is also 1 baited trap in both the front and back gardens. Please take care when booking with children.
