A message directly from the owner to describe her experience and testament to future visitors:

This house embodies the history of a farming family that has cultivated and cherished their land with respect for nature and its cycles. Surrounded by hectares of woodland and arable fields, it represents an invaluable heritage. Generations who have lived here, from my grandparents to my father and his brothers, along with their sharecropping families, have drawn sustenance from its fertile lands. During the Second World War, this estate stood as an example of harmony and solidarity, surviving through a coexistence of obligations, rights, and duties, while keeping traditions alive even in the most difficult times.

"Barghini" is not just the name of the street where Villa del Nonno stands; it also represents the connection with my father's uncle, the local "Lord" of the village who allowed my grandfather and his family to live in this house, expressing the desire that it be cared for and passed down to his favourite nephew, my father Cesare, the grandfather of my children. It is here, in this countryside, that I learned from my grandfather and father to recognize the sounds of birds, identify forest mushrooms, tend to fruit trees, and appreciate the serenity and beauty of sunsets.

This house has also taught my children, through their grandfather, to love rural life in all seasons, to enjoy the simplicity of ingredients, and to experiment with recipes passed down by their grandmother. My grandmother, a strong and tenacious woman, managed the farm activities and sold products along the road, while my grandfather, more contemplative, dedicated his time to the plants that now flourish in the garden.
All those family memories and feelings they are what I wish for my guests to experience and appreciate during their stay at Villa del Nonno: the tranquillity of the countryside, the value of nature and its traditions, the taste of extra virgin olive oil, and the exquisite products that Tuscany offers and cannot be found elsewhere.

Sensational Villa
I stayed here with my family, who travelled all the way from Barbados for my 30th birthday last year, and it was honestly the most incredible stay. Sara was absolutely amazing, and the villa is breathtakingly beautiful. I would highly recommend it. My family and I can’t wait to come back.

Insane villa
The stay was incredible, Sara and Fillipo were very welcoming, the villa has a lot of charm, it has no neighbors and is therefore very quiet. The garden is maintained to perfection. One of the most beautiful properties I've ever rented!

A real Gem
This is a quite lovely place. Beautifully decorated with everything you need. The owner Sara is very nice and she is always reliable. The pool is huge and the shaded area with really comfortable sofa and armchairs is perfect for whiling away the afternoons. I am very fussy but I honestly couldn't fault it.

A Stunning Villa
Villa del Nonno is an absolutely stunning villa, our stay was fantastic and so peaceful. Everyone in our party had the most amazing stay and are already talking about a return trip. Nothing was too much trouble for the host, who left some delicious treats on arrival for us to try. We have made some stunning memories, which will never be forgotten. The only thing that could be improved is the Wifi, which was a little slow.

Beautiful retreat
Villa del Nonno is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures! The property is new and well equipped with everything that a group of friends/family might need. The house is in the middle of the Tuscany countryside and the outdoor area was pretty. The house is extremely private and the view is awesome! The rooms are fully furnished and it is evident that there was a lot of attention to every tiny detail. Moreover, the house was super clean and the host was available to answer our requests and questions.Highly Reccomend

Very Beautiful villa
Loved Sara s Villa. It’s spacious, very well equipped and beautifully furnished, has an extensive, well kept garden and a lovely large pool. Super outlook from the 1st floor front. Appreciated the fizz and tastey snacks provided on arrival. We are a family of 6 adults and two young children, a nice surprise was the table tennis and table football, which we were’t expecting. Loved the ‘outside’ dining area and the hammock. Easy drive to supermarket, restaurants and to Lucca and Pisa. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Provide more than one drying up towel. On arrival I was confused by the explanation of recycling procedures, better to just point out the clear written instructions. We appreciated a later checkout but were taken unawares that the check out procedure takes some time. Tell guests this up front so they can better plan their time before leaving.

Perfect Family Getaway in the heart of Tuscany
Our stay at Villa Del Nonno was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a memorable experience. The villa itself is beautiful home that blends traditional Tuscan elegance with modern comfort, making it perfect for a family getaway. The location is truly unbeatable. Nestled in the picturesque Tuscan countryside, the villa offers a serene atmosphere that is both relaxing and invigorating. Whether we were lounging by the private pool, exploring the lush gardens, or enjoying meals on the spacious covered veranda, every moment felt like a slice of paradise. One of the highlights of our trip was the exceptional recommendations from our host, Sarah. Her warmth and attentiveness made us feel right at home, and her tips led us to some amazing day trips. Our favorite excursions included exploring the quaint nearby village of Montecarlo (15 min), San Gimignano (1 hr) Lucca (20 min), and a beach day at Forte dei Marmi (45 min). The villa itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, offering plenty of room for our family to spread out and relax. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to prepare meals with ease, while the cozy living areas provided a perfect space to unwind after a day of exploring. Villa Del Nonno exceeded all our expectations. It is an ideal choice for families seeking a peaceful retreat in one of the most beautiful regions of Italy.
