About this property

Rustic Rural Barn Conversion

A unique converted Devon bank barn full of character and charm. Secluded and spacious accommodation surrounded by a beautiful landscaped garden and countryside views. The property is sandwiched between Dartmoor National Park to the west and the stunning Devon coastline to the east. An ideal spot to get away from the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in nature.

Due to its rural location, a car is essential and there is free parking for two cars onsite.

Please note that due to the property layout, we cannot accept children under ten years of age.

Reverse level accommodation. The ground floor consists of a large entrance hall, one en suite master double bedroom, a second double bedroom and a twin bedroom with two single beds, and a main bathroom. There is a single step into each of the rooms. There is a wooden staircase to the first floor which is an open plan living space with the living room at one end and the kitchen and dining area at the other. Exposed beams and rustic barn features.

We are a small family run holiday let business. We live nearby and we will be available for any questions or to resolve any issues when needed.

The property is in a very rural location accessed through single track Devon country lanes with passing spaces.

WiFi and a landline is provided free of charge however due to the rural location uninterrupted service cannot be guaranteed.
Mobile phone signal is limited to the garden area and depends on your network provider.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure continuity of services, we cannot be held responsible for disconnection due to maintenance or matters beyond our reasonable control.

Lovely barn conversion

The Barn is beautifully converted to a comfortable dwelling. It was very clean and well equipped. The grounds back and front were well kept and delightful. The hosts were lovely and tried to be helpful. There was a snag that we were not aware of beforehand and that was there was no mobile phone connection in the barn or its grounds at all. upon arrival we were also informed by the host that the internet was down but it should be working again in a few days. This also included the landline phone. For the ten days we were at the property we had no connection to the outside world at all. We felt extremely cut off, could not plan our itinery each day, check google maps to find our way around the area, check the weather forecast, or get in touch with family or even VRBO. We had to drive out a few miles from the property to pick up some connection. If there would have been any type of emergency what would we have done? Had we known in advance of these potential problems we would not have booked it. The £30 per day compensation didn't really cut it at all.

Beautiful barn conversion

We had the most peaceful and lovely stay. Accommodation was perfect and all gardens were beautiful. Very secluded and off the beaten path. Access to the property is by a very narrow single track road for about a 10 min drive. This wasnt ideal but the Accommodation made it all worth it.

About the host

Hosted by Zoe Butcher

Host profile image
I grew up in Devon and my family have lived in the same house for forty years so I have good knowledge of the area and things to see and do. We have run our business for the last ten years and have enjoyed welcoming guests worldwide.

Why they chose this property

It is a great place to enjoy the outdoors with Dartmoor and the South Devon coastline being a short drive away. It is also accessible to the A38 providing an accessible route to the cities of Exeter and Plymouth and surrounding towns of Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Newton Abbot and Totnes.

What makes this property unique

We completed the renovation of the barn in 2010 and we have retained many of the original features to maintain the rustic feel. It is in the heart of the Devon countryside so it is ideal for connecting with nature, enjoying the dark skies on a clear night and getting away from the hustle and bustle.
