The Cottage
Samphire Cottage is a quintessentially Norfolk cottage, with a brick and flint exterior and a charming and cosy interior. This spacious two-bedroom cottage is lovingly furnished to create a homely yet stylish hideaway for your North Norfolk holiday. Situated in the heart of the popular village of Docking, you are a hop skip and a jump from the pub and a short walk to the well stocked village shop. Samphire Cottage benefits from both an enclosed courtyard garden to the rear and a pretty grassy garden opposite the cottage with far reaching countryside views and has unrestricted parking immediately outside on the road.
On entering the cottage from the courtyard garden, guests are welcomed into the perfect country kitchen, with exposed beams, a traditional kitchen dresser and copper pots hanging on the wall. The kitchen is well stocked for keen cooks and features a breakfast bar at the end, looking out into the courtyard beyond.
The main living area is cleverly designed to incorporate a comfortable sitting room with two large sofas to cosy up on, in front of the wood burning stove, a dining alcove with table and bench and a work desk and chair in case there is a need to catch up with some work whilst you are away.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a wonderful family bathroom arranged off the landing. The principal bedroom is full of traditional charm with a king size bed, wardrobe and dressing table and bedroom two has a flexible bunk bed, comprising of a double bed at the bottom and single above with bedroom chair and a window out to the front of the cottage. The luxurious family bathroom has a free standing claw foot bath, large separate shower enclosed, pedestal sink and traditional WC with high level cistern. The ideal bathroom to enjoy a good soak in the bath when you get back from a day out in the fresh air.
Outside
There is parking immediately outside the cottage and along the road on either side. The cottage is located towards the end of the village, just a few steps away from the Railway Inn, a proper village pub serving good food and real ales. A short walk in to the village is the fantastic Docking Spar, well stocked with essentials, so no need to worry if you have forgotten something when you packed the car.
There is an enclosed courtyard garden to the rear of the cottage with pretty festoon lights, an outside dining table and four chairs and BBQ.
In addition to this, immediately opposite the cottage is a second little grassy garden with far reaching countryside views.
One well behaved four legged family member is welcome to come and stay at Samphire Cottage, by request. Please contact the team at Big Skies Holiday Cottages for more details.
One four-legged friend is welcome, but there is a small charge of £25. Please let us know if you wish to bring a pet.
