The house is located just outside Rhiw which is a small village on the South West tip of the Llyn Peninsula and is 100 meters from the Wales Coast Path, and also the local coastal bus route. 15 minutes drive from Abersoch and 10 minutes from Aberdaron.
In Rhiw itself, there is a manor house (Plas Rhiw) dating back to the 10th Century which is now owned by the National Trust - the organic garden is the only one owned by the National Trust. Porth Ysgo is the local beach which is beautiful and secluded and has a waterfall that cascades onto the beach itself...
Aberdaron, 10 minutes away is the nearest place to get all your local supplies and is a lovely coastal village and where you can get a boat over to the famous Bardsey Island. A couple of nice pubs and bakeries make this a lovely place to visit. Abersoch, 15 minutes away is where you will find a good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops along with lots of watersports and of course Hell's Mouth which is the surfing spot of the area. You can also take part in Marine Safari's and fishing trips.
The Llyn Peninsula has a lot going on. Glaslyn Parc is where you can go wakeboarding, karting and bowling along with lots of other family activities. Bear Grylls Survival, paintballing, off road segway are also located on the Peninsula. The Marina in Pwllheli is a great place for sailing and Plas Glyn Y Weddw is a fab art gallery situated just up from the beach in Llanbedrog with the great Aqua Beach Bar on the beach itself.
The Tŷ Coch in Porthdinllaen, voted one of the best pubs in the world is about a 25 minute drive away.
Further East, you'll enter Snowdonia. There is Portmeirion, the beautiful Italian Village based on the coast which is home to Festival No 6. Snowdon is just over an hour away, there are many Castles to visit which are classed as world heritage sites. Last but not least are Zip World, Surf at Adventure Parc Snowdonia and the National Whitewater Centre which are all huge attractions to the area.
