About this property

The Old Cart House Stokesay

This beautifully converted cart house, formally part of the historic Stokesay Estate, offers a luxurious romantic retreat. It is surrounded by listed buildings with the Shropshire countryside on the doorstep. Walk to the river and join one of the footpaths on the Shropshire Way into the nearby rolling hills or venture down the road into the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms (300 metres). Within the village are several shops and eateries. In easy reach for a day visit is the historic Stokesay Castle, Church Stretton, and Ludlow (7 miles) – a medieval market town with an impressive 11th-century castle. Enjoy the popular market in the town square and numerous annual events, or visit one of the many independent shops, pubs, and restaurants. The property is perfect whether you just want to relax and unwind or take an active holiday in Shropshire.
After a busy day exploring the area, return to this converted cart house which has been designed with your comfort in mind, and furnished to a high standard throughout. Walk into the stylish open-plan living area with a comfortable sofa to snuggle up on. Watch a film on the Smart TV, and light the wood burner for cosy nights. If eating in, the kitchen is a lovely space to rustle up a meal using some of the fantastic local produce you will find at the Ludlow Farm shop. The dining table is the perfect setting to enjoy a meal together and plan your holiday activities. There is also a WC on the ground floor. When ready for bed, head upstairs into the spacious bedroom with a double bed and luxurious linen which is guaranteed to give you a good night’s sleep. The high standard continues into the shower room for a leisurely start to the day.
Outside, relax at the table and chairs in the walled garden enjoying morning coffee and al fresco dining in this quiet location.
