About this property
Dolawel, Newport - Six Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 10
Dolawel is a beautiful cottage with superb views overlooking the sea and headlands, within walking distance of Parrog beach and the village of Newport. The property sits in a large garden and paddock of 1.5 acres and has many lovely features and comforts, including a large modern kitchen-dining room, and spacious sitting room with cosy open log fire, both with wide patio doors looking towards the sea.
The village of Newport has a range of excellent restaurants, a pizza bar, cafés, curry house/takeaway, pubs, and shops, including a butcher, post office, chemist, fishmonger, deli, and Spar. The Golden Lion and The Castle Inn are family and dog-friendly and have a beer garden; alternatively, try The Canteen for a takeaway pizza.
Dolawel is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with its gorgeous sandy beaches - and with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path just a short walk away and the Preseli Hills within an easy drive, the cottage is perfect for walkers. Newport Sands is great for families, try The Parrog for rock pooling, or travel further afield and explore Cwm yr Eglwys with its small cove and ruined church, just a short drive up the coast. Newport also has a wonderful 18-hole golf course, 2 tennis courts, great birdwatching, dolphin spotting, sailing/kayaking in the sea and estuary, crabbing for children and river and sea fishing.
