Such a beautiful location! Highly recommend if looking for a place to stay close to blue ridge parkway or Staunton. The view at sunset is unbelievably beautiful! Thank you for a very memorable weekend!
This is a wonderful place to be, the view is spectacular.
Porch swing on the back where you may enjoy your beverage of choice and watch the sunrise or set.
Great host! You will love it.
Beautiful property with wonderful hosts. The pictures do not do this place justice. It is so peaceful. We will be back again. Bill was so helpful with recommendations. He is very knowledgeable about the area. Thank you Bill and Sherry!
Everything about this property is just amazing. The first thing we saw was the view. Just spectacular. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Looking for a great place for a getaway? This is it! Lots to see and do in the area, wineries, breweries, etc. I promise you won't be bored. Will is a very gracious host, easy to communicate with and attentive to your needs. Staying here was a wonderful experience, would definitely come back.
We chose this home based on location and a king sized bed. What a find! Great host, beautiful home, fantastic views
This vacatperfeperfectlyperfectcleaclean,
Stunning views of the valley. Had a great couple nights. The basement apartment is nicely separated / private from the house. Had a great time playing some outdoor games with a spectacular backdrop.
It was a wonderful place to stay. A short distance to restaurants and any other places one could need. We love the peaceful surroundings. One can’t go wrong staying here. You will hope to return soon, just like we do.
Beautiful property with thoughtful hosts! We enjoyed our time at the property and exploring the nearby town. Well thought out apartment. Thank you for a great weekend away!
It's very "challenging" to find getaway locations that accommodate wheelchair users, but this one did not disappoint! Notwithstanding the amazing and calming views and the cozy condition of everything inside, the owner made sure that we had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. My husband easily navigated inside and outside of the unit in his wheelchair, the bed was nice and firm, and the stillness of the environment was priceless! Anyone just looking to steal away for a little R&R should definitely check this place out... you'll be glad you did.
We had such a wonderful stay, the place is so lovely! The views are breathtaking and we loved sitting on the patio gazing at the mountains. The owners were very hospitable and we enjoyed talking with them. We'll miss our daily puppy visits. When we come back to the area, we hope to stay again!
Stunning views. Peaceful ambiance. Wonderful hosts. We started our trip completely stressed out from work but even before we arrived, Bill had recommended hiking at Crabtree Falls, which we did otw. Great plan! After arriving at apartment, enjoyed meeting Bill & those sweet dogs. But the views and the apartment!! Pictures don’t do them justice. Also before arriving I had been a little concerned about privacy due to house/apt setup but that was not an issue at all. We went there to enjoy Polyface. What a treat We’d return for sure
We really enjoyed our stay at Almost Heaven. The view is definitely heavenly, and the apartment was immaculate and comfortable. Bill was a great host and gave us great information on area restaurants and activities. We highly recommend Almost Heaven and would stay there again!
I wanted a place that was peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. This place far exceeded my expectations. While I cannot say enough about the beauty of the place, the hosts were even better.
We were in the area scouting out the community to see if we potentially wanted to move there. Bill and his wife were so kind and courteous, and gave us so much information and graciously shared their time. The room itself was extraordinary. The efficiency is clean and has everything you need for a short stay. If you’re lucky to be there and see a beautiful sunset, Bill doesn’t even charge extra for that :) . When we need a place to stay again, we will definitely be there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and upon arrival understood exactly why it’s described as ‘Almost Heaven.’ Bill is a very gracious host who greeted us when we arrived and, being well versed on the area, suggested lots of great places to visit and dine. The accommodations are as listed and makes for a clean, comfortable place to retreat for a weekend getaway. The proverbial icing on the cake is the view of the mountains which is absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely return!
This was my second visit, and I wish I could have stayed longer. Peaceful and serene, incredibly gorgeous view, very comfortable and perfect! Bill is wonderful -accessible and respectful. Can’t wait to go back!
Bill, the owner/manager, greeted us when we arrived and helped carry our luggage inside. We enjoyed talking with him during our stay. Everything was spotless - the bed very comfortable - the refrigerator stocked with some items for our use - inside and outside well maintained. The surrounding farm fields and mountains were lovely at any time of day. Several bird feeders attracted numbers of birds. Our stay was wonderful in every respect.
We enjoyed our stay here. The open fields and mountain views were amazing. Great relaxing weekend getaway. Bill was very knowledgeable about the area and made our stay a delight.
A very comfortable and well kept place to relax. Bill went out of the way to welcome us and make sure we had what we needed.
Thank you!
