This beautiful, modern apartment is in an historic building adjacent to a working Dominican Priory. The apartment is just minutes from central London. Described as a hidden gem by guests, it's rarely available.
It is on a quiet street, 5 minutes by foot to Belsize Park tube station (Northern Line, Zone 2) and 2 minutes to the fantastic 24 and 46 bus routes. The 46 goes to Kings Cross/St Pancras in 10 minutes - the hub for Eurostar and trains to Paris. The apartment is very central and has fantastic transport links into central London.
The apartment is an 18th century grade II listed building, it is on the 2nd floor; there is a lift or you can use the the stairs. Entry to the development from the street is with a code, then a main entry door and a further door to the flat. So it's very secure! It's also very private, peaceful and quiet.
This luxury apartment has 2 double bedrooms (king size beds) and benefits from 2 bath rooms (1 ensuite) both with shower/bath. It has a spacious lounge and fully equipped galley kitchen.
The Dominican monks still live in the adjacent building, part of St Dominic's Church, one of the largest in London. But worry not, no church bells or noise. Our neighbours are silent as mice.
It has spectacular views of the communal garden, priory and church from the living room and second bedroom. Reminiscent of an Oxford or Cambridge University college setting.
You will be able to use free wifi and cable TV.
This Hampstead gem is new to VRBO this autumn 2024. Hugely popular on other well known booking site.
About the Area
The flat is a 10 minute walk to Hampstead Heath, famously painted by John Constable, and the same again to Primrose Hill. Both offer beautiful walks and terrific views over London. You can reach Camden Lock on foot in 10 minutes. Regents Park is about 20 minutes on foot, which is stunning for walks/running in the summer or you can visit the famous London Zoo. Foodies will love the local cafes and restaurants, all just a stone's throw away. You are a 10 minute walk from Gospel Oak lido, reminiscent of a Swedish prison but boasts an amazing 60 metre, Olympic sized, open air swimming pool, with cheap early bird swimming from 7am. Of if you like cold water swimming, take advantage of the free famous Hampstead Heath ponds - all within very easy walking distance. Young visitors might enjoy the play park on the Heath alongside the running track. The Kentish Town Forum and the famous Round House are both short walks - for music fans.
Getting Around
Bus 24 is fantastic - from my flat it goes to Camden, Euston, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Parliament (Big Ben), Victoria and Pimlico (Tate Britain). Bus no 46 will take you to Kings Cross/St Pancras in less than 15 minutes - St Pancras is the hub for Eurostar, so very easy access to Paris, Lille or Brussels. Alternatively you can walk to Belsize Park tube which is in zone 2 on the Northern Line. Gospel Oak overland station is 10 minutes by foot and will take you to destinations such as Stratford (Olympics Park) and Kew Gardens in less than an hour.
