Summer Home

My family and I needed a place to camp out for the entire summer and came across Mary Sue and Phil’s condo. From late May to late August, me, my wife and 2 toddler children were able to wake up to beautiful sunrises and go to bed to even more beautiful sunsets. The condo was great and exactly as advertised. The pool is very large and maintained perfectly and there is also a tennis court on the grounds. An added bonus is the Santini plaza, CVS, 7-11 and Pinchers restaurant were all within walking distance. We loved our stay there and the hosts are excellent hosts and available to be reached whenever needed. Thanks Mary Sue and Phil!!

Awesome Penthouse and location on Estero Island

We loved our stay in Fort Myers Beach in large part by having such a beautiful condo to come home to. Beautifully decorated with soaring 11’ ceiling in the main living area. There are three bedrooms (one has a pull out couch only) and firm but very comfortable beds. The condo didn’t overlook the beach, but instead a marina and inland waterway. To my mind this was even more interesting especially with a huge lanai with screens on two sides giving a panoramic view. The boat traffic was very quiet. The top floor location also eliminates the clomping around sounds of those in an upstairs suite. Restaurants, a 7/11, a CVS, and a movie theatre were easily walkable, and the beach was 5 minutes away across the street. If you time it right the ‘trolley’ is useful navigating the island and only 75 cents (35 cents for seniors) per trip. Publix is nearby but requires the trolley or your car. Mary Sue must be the nicest owner I have ever had the pleasure working with. Everything in the unit worked well and the pool and bbq area were just behind the condo building. No issues whatsoever. A 5* experience in every way!

Beautiful Views and Sunrises

My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise every day from this fantastic condo. It was the perfect unit for our month long vacation in Fort Myers Beach. The condo was large and spacious and had all the bells and whistles. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms were fully outfitted. The 270 degree views were breathtaking. We both enjoyed watching the boats go by from the large lanai. The building is close to a number of restaurants and stores for shopping. These services were only a 5 minute walk away. The owner Mary Sue was a delight to work with. A couple of minor issues came up and they were handled quickly by Mary Sue. Hope to be able to come back for another stay.

Just Wonderful

From first communication with owner our experience was first class - so accommodating with prompt replies to any questions. The condo as described is probably the best - top floor with wonderful views from each window. Every room is filled with light and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked and has every gadget you could wish for if you want to make your own meals. The lanai is large and feels like an extension of the condo - another room to enjoy our stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again - thanks to the very nice owners for sharing their lovely home.

Unforgettable Stay in Paradise

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to Mary Sue and Phil for letting us stay in their beautiful condo they were an absolute pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond our expectations to ensure our stay was a fabulous one. What to say about the condo.... from the minute we opened the door and viewed the living area to activating the storm shutters to reveal the view it really does take your breath away. The pictures can not do it justice, for the three weeks we were there I never tired of the view and do not think I ever would., a totally different perspective depending on which direction you turn. The condo itself is beautifully decorated and equipped to the very highest of standards with lovely thoughtful touches from Mary Sue on our arrival. The condo is perfectly situated at the quieter southern end of the island with its own swimming pool overlooking Fish Tail Marina. We spent a lot of time in and around the condo because the area had everything we were looking for. There is a lovely restaurant on the marina with shops and local amenities less than 5 minute walk away. If the beach is your thing, you can be dipping your toes into the Gulf of Mexico in less than 6 minutes walk. Can highly recommend the boat trip from Fish Tail Marina where we saw lots of wildlife and dolphin out on Estero Bay. Spent many hours watching the comings and goings of the marina from our vantage point high on the 8th floor balcony. During our stay a group of Manatee (which I am reliably informed is called and aggregation of Manatee..!) came to visit as well as a small Gator which they tell me is rare occurrence in the canal. If making memories which will last a lifetime is what you are after this is the perfect place and setting to do just that..!

About the host

Hosted by Mary Sue

Host profile image
We live in Annapolis, Maryland. Phil is a retired university professor and telecommunications executive. He now writes a weekly column in the Annapolis Capital called Bonus Years.
Mary Sue is an avid volunteer and gardener. We are the proud grandparents of a two-year-old girl, whom we see weekly, and another on the way. Which is why we are not able to use the condo as much as we would like and are eager to share it with others who will love it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Phil had been coming to Fort Myers Beach with his parents since 1948, and together we have spent some time on the Beach every winter for 35 years. We wanted a condo on the south end of the island to avoid the intense traffic problems of the north end and fell in love with this property the moment we saw it. We have looked at a lot of properties, including condos in Naples, and this one can't be beat for its beauty and view and for its proximity to everything you could possibly want for a vacation.

What makes this property unique

Palm Harbor is on a quiet street but is also literally just a few steps from shopping, lots of restaurants, a post office, and medical clinic. One of the finest restaurants on the beach, South Beach, is less than a 5 minute stroll. Boat and kayak rentals are also just steps away. The beach is just across the street and an easy walk. Beach vendors rent cabanas and umbrellas, so you don't even have to haul beach gear. We love waking up to the sunrise tinting the master bedroom shades of red, orange, and pink. And there is plenty of room in the open great room for get-togethers.
