About this property
Gregor's Cottage: Best coastal view, luxury inside
Gregor’s Cottage has the best of everything: stunning Northumbrian coastal location, historic stone cottage, and brand-new luxury interiors. (And did we mention the patio & garden with views for miles – to the sea, Cheviot hills, Holy Island, Bamburgh and more).
This is a large, traditional stone cottage, situated on a quiet family farm. We have farmed here for generations, and are excited to start sharing this special place with others.
Gregor’s Cottage is situated on the heritage Northumbrian coast and is only 3 mins drive/ 15 mins walk to the nearest quiet, sandy beach. There are many beautiful spots nearby, including the villages of Bamburgh and Seahouses – with great restaurants, sites to see and boat trips to take! Also close is historic Lindisfarne, known locally as Holy Island. We have plenty of recommendations for the best food and drink nearby – from local ‘go to’ buzzy spot Atelier, to hidden hillside micro-brewery The Cheviot Tap, to the secret gem that is Cheswick beach (just 5 mins drive away).
The cottage has recently been fully renovated throughout, balancing its traditional character with luxury, modern living. Downstairs there is a large kitchen/dining/ sitting room, with stunning full-wall sliding glass doors out to the patio with extensive views and outdoor dining table. This is next to the large separate sitting room, with sofa seating for six and the warm, wall-inserted living-flames fire. Also downstairs is a back-porch area to store coats and boots, utility room with washer and dryer, and downstairs loo.
Upstairs is also all new, warm and welcoming. Three large bedrooms (two have king beds, one is a twin). Both king-bed bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, which both have brand-new power showers, sinks, and loos. The third bathroom is stand-alone, with a large bath, sink and loo.
Outside there is a lawn garden, with outdoor dining table for eight and additional bench/ coffee table seating. From either spot, the views out to sea are truly stunning. There is no passing traffic (other than the occasional tractor), as this cottage is at the end of a private family-farm track.
All practical mod-cons are included: Smart TV in living room, wifi throughout, full central heating, coffee machine. High-quality bed linen and towels.
We also offer bicycle hire from our sister business Good Times Bicycle Hire, with a discount for guests of this cottage. Good Times is based on our farm (100 metres from the cottage), and offers a range of E-Bikes, mountain bikes and hybrids for adults & kids. National Cycle Route 1 is right on our doorstep, for a stunning day ride from the cottage to Holy Island or into Berwick!
